I did 2 jobs for the notary spot in August 2016. ?To this date I have not received payment. I have not received a single call back or even an email returned. I have even threatened legal action.
I was contracted through TheNotarySpot, Inc. as a Notary Public to perform signing services on a Mortgage Transaction. The Title company, "SMITH" Title (name redacted due to privacy) Contracted with TheNotarySpot, Inc. for these closings.
On 07/22/2016 I traveled over 60 miles to complete a signing, then traveled another 30 miles to get the package to another location to have the spouse sign. My agreed upon fee was $135.00
Per the terms of my agreement with TheNotarySpot, Inc., I was not paid for my services. I called numerous times but it appears their office was now closed. I sent demands for payment to the suggested email address. I called the Title company.
I finally got through to Counsel at "SMITH" Title Company, who reviewed the matter and MANY other situations where NotarySpot did not pay their signing agents. "SMITH" Title Company is not liable for the nonpayment on behalf of TheNotarySpot, Inc, as per their Agreement. "SMITH" Title Company also tried to get in touch with TheNotarySpot, Inc, and was unsuccessful.
Unfortunately, it appears that TheNotarySpot has since gone "Fishing", There is no way to get through to them, and their owner, Michael Tomlinson, appears to have left the country. This company is SCAMMING their way throughout a very highly regulated Mortgage industry, and will eventually be caught. STAY AWAY, in the meantime..... although i doubt they'll be completing any signings any time soon. A simple "google" search would deter me.
The Notary Spot has not paid for services rendered for over 6 months. Can not get through to anyone via the telephone or email. I had to pay money to obtain documents from a county courthouse and submit to them. Not only did they NOT pay for my service, but the never paid for the money that was spent out of pocket.
He is known by several names. The Notary Spot, Mid-States Notary, Michael Tomlinson.
I had just started doing signings. After numberous types of contact, (phone, email, fax) I got ONE reply from [email protected] from Monique Sharon saying she will look into it. That was months ago! After that I never got a reply back, call back, NOTHING!.

After Googling I saw many other notaries are having the same issue. Recent I found this website, it looks like they are going to take a group action against him.
I did a signing for this company in September,2016 and I have tried to contact them regarding payment on several occasions and they will not respond to phone calls or emails. I checked out 123 Notary and they had good reviews. I should have known something was not right because the reviews are from 2012 or 2013. This is so unfair and aggravating. I want to be paid for the notary signing I completed for them.
I performed notary services for this company in May 2016. I never received payment for services. Although, when I actually got someone on the phone and they seemed concerned and apologetic, I never received a response from this company. They never ackknowledged my inquiries. I sent a letter, numerous emails, made several calls, with no luck. I want to make sure that other notaries out there, don't fall for their scam. I don't know how they stay in business, but I guess there are so many notary signing agents, that they haven't dried up yet. Terri, Leesburg, Florida
I have completed 5 loan closings for this company and have not been compensated for either of them. I have called and email but never get a response. If someone knows what action I can take, please advise.
I've completed two signings for this company and they refuse to pay me. I've attempted to contact them serveral times, to ono avail. I've sent numerous invoices via email and hard copies, to no avail. Worse Notary Signing Company EVER! STAY AWAY from them. The only time you get them on the phone is when they call you for your services and if you bring up the previous non-payment issues, they hang up.
Thenotaryspot gave us a signing job. 40 days later the check showed up. We deposited the check and it came back as NSF. We contacted the company to get the original check plus the NSF charge the bank has charged us.
They have failed to make good on the check and falied to refund the NSF charges.
We have continued to call and they won't/dont answer the phone and won't return emails.
Stay far away from this group. Good luck getting your money.
I have call this company and email the regarding my service with them as notary in Dallas, Tx for that the month Auguest 2015 I did 3 notary and no one has call or email me back regarding my payment . I am not sure what is going on but this is not good business.
My husband and I are Notary Signing Agents and have completed 8 closings and have been stiffed $740.00 as they are no longer answering their phones and emails. Do not do any work for these people. I contacted Carrington Title, their client and they have cut their services. Just stay on top of all the other companies that owe you, I WILL.

I have yet to be paid for services rendered. I have contacted this company on average twice a month after the initial 30 day period for payment.
When you call the company to collect all mailboxes are full - including sales, admin and scheduling.
This is a terrible way to run a business that provides services on home loans.
