We came into the tasting room this past weekend. We ordered two glasses of cab and a red wine flight. Needless to say, we were very dissapointed. The wines were incredibly acidic and not well balanced. Wine is certinaly subjective, but if you're used to quality wines, this might just be the worst wine you will ever have!
What made the experience worse is that the lady that served us at the bar was very aloof. When asked if we were enjoying the wines because we had barely finsished a third of them, we politely said that they just werent for us. Insead of something nice like "I'm sorry you didnt enjoy them, can I get you something else," she just made an obnoxious face, smelled the wine, and walked away. We felt completely embarrrassed.
While I am normally a humble person, I will say that I've been forutnate to stay at some of the nicest hotels in the world, and I also have eaten at some of the best restaurants, as well. So to be treated this way in a tiny tasting room located in an alley in Seattle was really dissapointing!
We weren't refunded our money, or even offered a replacement wine.
To make matters worse, I stopped by the restaurant today to speak to the owner so they could at least know what transpired. The owner listened to me for a mintue, but I got the feeling she didn't care at all. She barely muttered a half hearted apology before walking away while I was still talking. I was made to feel completely unimportant. No restitution was offered.
All in all, the place has nice curb appeal, and is relativly nice on the inside, but it's the quitessential tourist trap. It looks nice, but everything else from the wine to service is abhorent. I guess they can get away with it because there is such a high volume of foot traffic in the area.
My adivce to anyone reading this is save your money! Poor quality wines! Even poorer service!
