On October 18, 2016, I purchased a pair of Under Armour Women's size 12 running shoe model Speedform xc in soldier/elemental/Rebel (pink and gray). No confirmation email was sent, however, a few days later, October 21, 2016, a shipping notification was delivered to my inbox. The tracking number claimed by item shipped from Shanghai China. I thought that perhaps the warehouse was located in China and the company's based in Australia. It happens. On November 1, 2016, my shipment arrived. I opened the package to find red men's Under Armour shoes. I instantly emailed Thestockpot's customer service center and explained what had happened including attaching pictures of my order, the correct item, and the item received. I received an email claiming they would look into the matter. Their response after deliberating was to offer me a 15% refund to stop the transaction.
They told me that return shipping would be at my expense and it would be expensive and possibly have additional customs fees. I looked into that, and it would be around $300.00 US dollars to return. They are refusing the refund my total purchase and refusing to ship out the correct item. I repeatedly email them and me receive the same standard cut and past message with bad grammar and spelling errors. It is now November 8, 2016, and the issue is still unresolved. The company's site claimed a seven-day window for return shipping. However, 100% customer satisfaction is what they claim as their goal.
Long story, short, the company knows that return shipping causes the buyer hardship and eliminates the possibility of returns. Therefore the seller can ship out anything they have on hand and make money. They refuse to provide full refunds. Therefore, anyone who gives in and accepts the 15% refund is aiding the problem and enabling fraud to continue.
The website has no other means to contact the company. The customer service representative's name on the emails is Emily. I highly suspect that it is a pseudonym and that there isn't a management team discussing shipping errors. Since I have emailed them from several accounts about the same issue and received the same responses in the same order, I can safely say they have no intention of correcting the error and are confident that they will continue to get away with fraud.
These types of scams must stop. I have shoes I cannot use, and I am out the money to purchase shoes that I can use. However, the bigger picture here is of integrity and honesty; protecting the consumer's rights in a technological age. What will the world be like in ten years if scammers are not held accountable? I fear the world my children will be living in if a simple shoe purchase results in this type of fraud. As a US citizen, I am now more willing to pay higher costs to buy American and local. If we, as a nation, all buy local and from reputable companies, fraudulent international scams will cease the thrive. Please help me put a stop to this companies wrongdoing.
