Regarding: very serious complaint
Dear mr. Andy wright:
Good morning or good afternoon to you!
How is your day today in sunny barrie, ontario canada and/or wherever else you are in the world?
My day could be going much better, thank you, except due to the fact that about three (3) years ago, i won a source $25.00 dollar gift card in a contest at a store for a grand opening in downtown toronto.
I have never used the card nor had a use for it since i never shopped at any of your source stores before in my life, but would definitely choose to do so when i have a need for something important.
For your information: the back of your card does not say anything about an expiration date which means that the card should be good for as long as you do not use it.
During the month of november 2021, i decided to check my gift card online just to make sure that it was valid because somebody that i know was willing to trade it with me for another card and when i inputted the gift card number and pin number, nothing showed up!
At that point: i was very confused since i never, ever used the card!
I then decided to speak with somebody through the online chat and they told me that there was nothing on the card and that i need to contact your customer service phone number at: (866) 515-5855 to get the card reactivated and/or fixed since they were not sure if the card was expired for non-use and/or for something else!
Back on wednesday, december 1st, 2021, i did contact their toll free customer service phone number at: (866) 515-5855 and spoke with jean-francois on a recorded and monitored line and explained the whole situation to him and he told me that this card was illegally used from another location without even having the card present and somebody bought some kind of a gift card with it.
He also told me on a recorded and monitored line that he would send in a request to have the $25.00 dollars put back on to the card and told me that he would contact me back that very same day to let me know the status of when the money will go back on to the card which never happened!
In addition: i was very angry and upset over the fraudulent use of the card that after waiting for a while receive a call back which never happened, i decided to call the customer service department back again and requested to speak to a supervisor to find out the status of my gift card. The male supervisor that i spoke to was beyond horrible and unhelpful and quite rude!
I explained to him that the card was never out of my possession and i never showed the card to anybody! he did not care about me, nor my reasons or explanations and was unwilling to investigate on who used the card and/or where the transaction was made from.
He was also unwilling to have me fill out a fraud report and/or affidavit regarding the illegal, fraudulent activity that took place with this card, even though it was only for a small amount of money ($25.00 dollars)!
I know for a fact that i never used the card, ever and did not deserve this kind of negative, disgusting customer service abuse, treatment and unwillingness to help a customer coming from a very mean, selfish and cruel male supervisor over at the customer service department for the source Bell) electronics inc. Out in barrie, ontario canada.
I did ask the male supervisor of what address was used for the illegal transaction on this card to receive the illegally, purchased merchandise and the person i spoke with refused totell me anything, nor bother to research the location in which he has the power to do so!
Instead, his nasty response was that i had the card in my possession and whatever happens to the card is my problem and he refused to put the $25.00 dollars back on to the card!
For your information: about me: i work in customer service and never treat my customers as disrespectful and discourteous as i had been treated that day!
Moving right along: if something was purchased on the card, then how come i never received an email to ask me if i had made out the purchase and if this was mine?
Answer: if i had received an emailed notification informing me of a source gift card transaction being made and if i was the one who made it, i would have immediately responded by saying, "no" it was not me! ridiculous!
The source did absolutely nothing to stop the fraud and protect my gift card and they were fully capable of doing so, but sadly they really do not care about their customers!
They only care about your money and your wallets and that is all!
For your information: there is a lot of fraud going on with gift cards and it is unfair that there is absolutely no help, nor protection offered from the source Bell) electronics inc. For me in this case to have prevented this from happening and i also happen to be a very honest person who can prove that i was not the person who made out that illegal, fraudulent transaction!

Fraudsters can virtually print money for themselves by hacking into a company gift card database to steal card numbers and activation codes. This can be done via brute force hacking methods, malware, or using phishing or social engineering attacks against company employees. The last method is by far the most common.
