This Setai Spa, which has no affiliation with the Setai in Miami needs to be avoided at all costs! I have been here a number of times, only because sometimes its been convenient for me. However after my dreadful last experience it will defintely be my last. Let me start off by saying that if you are going to be a pricey establishment, your services have to be up to par and your customer service has to be friendly and accommodating. Well I have been to enough places to know what quality is and their treatments are mediocre at best and their customer service, if you even want it call it that, is disgraceful and nonexistant. However, the critical reason I am even writing this is regarding their insane 24 hour cancellation policy and how they almost robbed me of my money!
So I had an appointment set and had to cancel. No big deal...or so I thought. They do have a 24 hour cancellation policy and so I called the day before to cancel. However to my dismay, she told me that I was 20 minutes late past the full 24 hour mark and as a penalty, was going to charge me for the full amount of service. I honestly could not believe she was even uttering this to me. First off, I was never warned that they had such a time sensitive 24 hour policy by the minute or that as a penalty they will charge you for the full service of treatment. So technically she charged me without consent. Yes I am aware of 24 hour policys but this was absolutely ludicrous. Lastly, this is a disgraceful way to treat any customer and a repeated customer when in town nonetheless. I can assure you that had they mentioned this to me from the get-go, I would laugh in their face and never come here from the start. In any case, I escalated this to the manager who also agreed to not give me back my money. I refused to allow this to happen and decided to leave work early so I can personally go to the spa myself and speak with the manager when she would be there. Only then did she refund me back my money in full.
I encourage you to think twice about making any appointments at this place or at least be forewarned about my experience and how money hungry this place must be and how much of a joke with how its runned. This is new york city for goodness sake, so save your time and money because there are tons of quality spas.
