One of MANY organizations that target Senior citizens. Sending letters that say such things as, you must act now, final notice, past due and such other threatening language. Implying that unless money is sent to the organization that the individual will lose their Social Security Benefits. They claim to lobby on behalf of the senior citizens. Threatening that if the organization is not supported immediately they are in immediate danger of losing their COLA’s or benefits entirely. The elderly persons are susceptible to this scam because for some Social Security benefits are their only income. Additionally, they deliberately use such language that senior citizens suffering symptoms of dementia would susceptible to being stressors for them. If a senior “donates” they will become relentless sending dozens of mailing asking for more.
Just the other day, I have recieved THREE (3) pieces of mail in ONE day, wanting money to protect/save our Social Security from being taken by the President or Government. Wants money. Given $5 here, $10 there, ONLY the minimum. & at least once, $25. Then was told that the Social Security office would NEVER ask for money from citizens to protect their S.S. The mailings KEEP coming & WON'T stop! & I have no way to contact them to tell them to STOP the mailings!
Singn my name to a social security petition so that I can get a $65.00 rise on my benefit also with a $17.00 dontion and wen the s.427 passes Ill get my increase.
The letter from this fake organization asks for $15 and check off a YES/NO question on a "Social Security Ballot". This is an obvious scam. I hope no one is taken in by these thieves.
I have received many letters from the group asking for money. Now they even sent a stamped, self-addressed return envelope! I returning the envelope and marking "scam"--let's see what happens.
