This is the e-mail I wrote to Dave Osmond of The Ideal Match on Sept. 6 -- telling him that after 11 months on their books, (after paying the full VIP membership fee of $9,000), I was very disappointed with their services -- having only received 2 valid referrals since then, and being put "on hold" against my wishes. Also being rebuked for my "behavior" in discussing my membership with others! I asked for a refund and was told "there are no refunds after the three-day right of rescission."
Dave – I do hope you will listen to my reasons for wishing to terminate my membership, from my point of view. As I explained, I am NOT an ideal candidate for TIM’s services; I also have a much wider circle of friends with my shared interests than you seem to be able to provide. Also, to make my termination easier I still believe that the fact that I live more than 50 miles away from San Diego (although I also lived here when I joined) should make me eligible for note 18 in the agreement. You say that I have the option of trying to sell my membership, but as I pointed out to you earlier, from my own experience I cannot recommend it to anyone in my own (senior) circle of friends.
I continue to hope that you will agree to negotiate some type of cancellation agreement with a reasonable return of my investment without my having to resort to legal aid. In return I will refrain from discussing my disappointment with any other potential members.
This whole adventure has been extremely disappointing and hurtful.?i think I lost a lot of money for some grueling dates. I would like at least half of my mine back. I'm so upset with myself for throwing that kind money away. I know there is a lot of deceiving going on behind the scenes. It's like the song "build me up just to let me down".
This is the worst company! They play on your emotions . Telling you how great they are and can help you find the one person that is perfect for you. Your expectation is high and you have hope you will actually meet someone you can relate to after all the on line dating that never worked! You trust them , you give them money that you really don't have to use for this kind of thing , but you do it amyway hoping to finally meet someone good. Guess what , no dates, no matchs at all!!!' They should be shut down !!! They are scam artist of the worse kind!
