The House Of Portfolios in New York City are extremely unprofessional, sneaky, liars and get-overs! I went into the actual location after sourcing them from the internet, the work looked up to par with my personal esthetic and taste level. I ordered my portfolio and was told I could pick it up in two weeks. Two weeks came, I picked up my portfolio and proceeded to inquire about a "slip case" for protection. Thereafter is where my nightmare came. I ordered and payed in full for the slip case and again I was told I could pick it up in two weeks. (Prior to this I explained how important these items were to me, as I was preparing for one of the biggest meetings of my career) Two weeks came and I didn't hear from them so naturally I picked up the phone and called. I spoke with a man who I believe name is Victor (theirs two men and one women working there) I was told that they forgot to send out my order and that it would take an additional two weeks.
Beyond livid at this point, thinking of how close it was to the time of my big meeting, I expressed my feelings about how unacceptable that was and I should've been contacted so that I could plan accordingly. That was Oct 22nd... I received a call November 29th from them saying my order was ready, but it was too late, I'd already left the country for work. I returned Dec 13th, 2016. I was reviewing my transactions from my credit card and I noticed I had an unauthorized usage from The House Of Portfolios on NOV 30th 2016 for an additional, obscene amount! Today Dec, 14th 2016.. I stormed in and demanded an explanation, because this was now fraud on their behalf. They were extremely dismissive. I had all the proof they needed from my credit card statement and they could not explain why they charged me without my consent and refused to refund my money for that. I ensured that they would refund me my money for my slipcase as it was an error on their end, not mine. I'll never do business with them again. They make up prices as they go. They are con artists and it's sad. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone, especially not young, hard working entrepreneurs like myself...
