I will start out this report by asking everyone to check the reviews of a place before trusting them with your belongings! Especially if they are dear to you in anyway.
I came to Palm Springs to visit my mother a few weeks ago from Arizona. We decided to go though my recently deceased grandmother's belongings, when I came across her wedding ring. A gorgeous vintage gold band with 3 diamonds set in it. My grandmother wore this ring until the day she passed even though my grandfather passed away almost 8 years ago, she refused to take it off.
My mother said that I may have it, however it was a little loose and I was concerned I may loose it. I decided I woud wait to wear it until I had it sized. Later that day, my mother and I decided to go to the mall where I came across The Exchange. Retrospectively, I wish I had taken it somewhere else. I left it with them to get sized and they said it would be a few day.
When I got it back the diamonds had been switched out for what looks like glass. There was a small flaw on one of the diamonds and when I got it back they were perfect. There was not longer a tiny flaw in the diamond becuase there was no longer diamonds in the ring.
They stole the diamonds and replaced them with what looks like glass. When I asked the gentleman what happened to the flaw he said it was gone because they clean them after they size them. I did not trust it. This was the feeling I had in the pit of my stomache and I knew to listen to it. I returned home a few days ago and decided to take it to a jeweler here in Chandler. The news was unsettling. Aparently the ring only contains cubic zirconia as the gentleman mentioned.
Please do not go here. Avoid this place at all cost and please share this with everyone you know so they do not committ the same error I did.
