STOP MISLEADING YOUR CUSTOMERS!!!! Your TV ads make the customer think you are going out of business and everything has to be sold right away. They rush in to buy things and guess what, you do it all again the following week. It is a great way to keep making money, BUT, you are not being honest to the public. You are not going out of business, and there is NO hurry to sell everything, EXCEPT to make room for more stuff, to sell it, and make a lot more money fast!!!! You make people think it is the end of the world, if it is not all sold during the weekend. Why can’t it take a week or so to sell, just like any other business? The reason is, because your false advertising will make you more money in a short period of time. You also tell people that you got all this new stuff in, AND IT HAS TO BE MOVED!!!! Well, stop bringing in so much stuff and you won’t have to move it so fast........... OH....WAIT.....A..... MINUTE.....you won’t make as much money!!!!!! I would rather make a little money honestly, than a lot of money dishonestly.........but.........that.......is........just..........me.... How do you live with yourself, knowing your gimmick is misleading people. I know how you can live with yourself, you are greedy.... I know I am not the only person that feels this way,.............but............ I am more than likely the only person to say something. Most people are slow learners, BUT, they will eventually get sick and tired of your ads ( just like me ) and stop buying from you. So, make as much money as you can!!!!! What goes around, comes around!!! Your misleading gimmick will stop working sooner or later.
I have had such a bad time with this miserable company as a customer. I spent 5 hours picking out furniture to redo my whole living room and kitchen. In this time I had to fax paperwork to the store to be approved for their 24 months no payments no interest offer and they approved me for exactly that. that offer is called an x24 offer to the employees of that store. I signed all the paperwork stating I had 0 payments and 0 interest for 24 months, and took the area rugs I had selected to my car. I later received a call saying I wasn't approved for the x24 offer but the w24 which is 24 equal payments over 24 months with no interest. still a good deal but not what I wanted so I canceled the order completely and told them to write up the rugs on a new contract and I would pay cash for them. I didn't want to drive 50 minutes back to the store just to hand them their stuff back because they cant honor their contracts. Not only did they not honor their contract, they didn't cancel it either and went on to try to deliver the furniture to me when I wasn't home (according to "the dump" and my neighbors). Now "the dump" is sticking me with the bill for almost 6k worth of furniture that was supposed to be canceled, and trying to make me make payments on it when I was supposed to have no payments no interest in the first place... I never signed a delivery slip nor did I sign any agreement other than the one that I signed in the store for 0 payments 0 interest for 24 months. How did they get a new contract with me agreeing to buy these products from them on a totally different finance structure? Your guess is as good as mine but I can tell you it wasn't legally.. Avoid this store at all costs. They may have deals on furniture but you could end up like me getting bounced back and forth between the store the main office in Virginia, the finance company, the delivery company and the police trying to sort out a simple furniture sale... btw its been since 5/28/10 that this took place and it still isn't resolved. I have since reported them to the Arizona attorney general and the federal trade commission. the store in turn has filled charges against me for "stealing" said furniture "that i never took delivery of" because I haven't made a payment on their bogus contract. I will be sueing the sh*t out of them after I am cleared of this obviously ridiculous claim
We have made 2 separate purchases at The Dump in Houston, TX. "Each purchase" cost many thousands of dollars. No issues with merchandise. No issues with the salesman.
The issue is that the furniture was to be delivered Friday, November 9. I was called by the delivery people today and the message left stated a certain time it was to be delivered. Tomorrow is Veteran's Day celebration at my kids school, and as a veteran, I will be participating at the school ceremony.
I called the delivery people that The Dump uses/contracts/or otherwise has some business relationship with, and was told flat out that if I want to change the date or time of delivery, there would be a fee. I told them, "look you just called me telling me the delivery time, why is there a fee?" Her answer was because that's how it is. So I asked, half heartedly, what the fee would be. She replied over $800!!!
So I paused, waiting for the joke to continue. The problem was that it never came. I asked her to repeat that amount. She did. Over $800 to change the delivery time or date. I hung up on her.
I called The Dump in Houston, TX today and spoke with the manager. Could never quite clearly hear his name (Sander, Zander???). I shared with him what I was told, hoping that he would find it as unusual as I. Wrong. His tone was immediately standoffish, accusatory, and he spoke in a demeaning way as though I am some dumb bumpkin. He attempted to interrogate me about what his employee allegedly told me when I made the purchase(s), demanded to know why I made the delivery date when I had some other event to go to, and refers me back to the contract about restock fees and that the fee the girl told me was equivalent to a 20% restock charge. Amazingly, he had no issue with what I was telling him.
What restock? There is no job cancellation, just a simply delivery delay by 2 hours.
Point blank I told him that after my two purchases totalling over $8,000 in sales, and that as a U.S. military veteran going to a veteran's day celebration at my kids school, and the fact that I called within an hour of receiving their proposed delivery time to try and accommodate my schedule slightly, this is the service and attitude I get? There is something very very wrong with this picture, with this delivery company, and moreso, with The Dump's Houston, TX manager.
So my favorite line this manager tells me (with an ongoing attitude) after this is, "So what do you want me to do for you?" I said it's pretty clear, change my delivery time or day. Finally he told me he would check and call me back...no promises.
He did call back within an hour or two and adjust the time of delivery, not the date. THAT WAS ALL I WANTED in the first place. How hard is it to accommodate a good customer or any customer for that matter with such a simple request? What a foolish business decision and what a foolish individual. He eventually waived the fee as well. Thanks, but I never would have paid that absurd fee.
Nevertheless, if I didn't push back, not take no for an answer, they would have literally charged me over $800 for a delivery change. The product has been in their warehouse, it is not as though it is coming from a million miles away, and when we spoke this afternoon (around 2pm) I highly doubt the delivery truck was even loaded.
BOTTOM LINE: Prices are ok, salesman ok, post-sales issue remarkably poor. Poor attitudes from bottom to top, selfish, uncaring, and insensitive personnal. This incredible shock over this alleged delivery change fee (they called it a restock when NOTHING had to be restocked, only temporarily delayed) ends my business relationship with The Dump and my business partner who has herself spent over $10,000 with them. I shall spread the word of this.
FYI: To prove what I am alleging, don't go buy anything there, but if you already have, call to make a potential delivery change and see what they tell you; 20% restock fee. Yet they are not restocking anything as nothing is being returned. If you haven't bought there, good for you, but again, you can present to them the same scenario and see what they say.
Unbelievable! The dump is called "The Dump" for a very good reason . Not only did they not show up after they called me and told me they were 25 mins away but the next day when they finally got the furniture to me they didn't bring all the pieces . So two missed days of work , lost wages and wasted time sitting around waiting for complete idiots. So now for the whole story and the best part , the Corperate office manager or lack there of Antoinette. So as I am calling the shipping company they tell me first I canceled the order , the they come back after half hour on hold to tell me someone in the warehouse told the loaders not to load the bed set. Mind you this is about 3 hours after the delivery guys called me and said they would be here in 25 mins. Needless to say they said they said there was nothing they could do about it . Then the wonderful Corperate sheep tell me they also can't do anything about it the best they can do is get it to me the next day and with an attitude as well. I told them that is not customer service at all, she said I was wrong. So let's fast forward to the next day , so they give me 2 hour window that they will be arriving , which I was later told they only give 3 hour windows , not call that they were coming or anywhere near me in the last 10 mins of there estimated time frame. So I call the store again , finally I got ahold of a very nice manager named Shannon and she rerouted the truck to come to me immediately. Oh and I wasn't the first priority oh the day I was the sixth stop ( funny ) , so guys arrive and come to find out they didn't have the whole bedroom set! LOl! So the end to my horrible service with this company is that I will never shop at the " Dump " ever again.... P.S. I then spent the rest of my day off ripping this store apart on ever review site possibly .
On 08/20/2016 purchased a King size mattress with lift, pad and two King size pillows. Pad given to me at the store, was told pillows would be delivered with mattress. Delivery on 8/22/2016 of mattress and was told by delivery people that they don't deliver pillows store should have given to me with the pad. Called store, USP one pillow to me and said would ship other when shippment came in. Still didn't get pillow, many phone calls made and finally 09/08/2016 a pillow came by UPS. Checking, pillow was not a match at all to the one shown and purchased sent by first UPS delivery. Called Customer Service the same day telling them they sent the wrong pillow. Message forwarded to Store Manager who called, I took pictures with my cell phone of both pillows point out the difference, and heard nothing else from him. On 09/09/2016, called him and this is where everything changed. He is telling me it is the same pillow just with a different cover which is not true, the texture, quality is not any where near as nice. He proceeds to become uncooperative and nasty when I told him that I was not driving 50 miles one way to bring these pillows back, not my responsibility and was very agreeable when I asked him if I was supposed to send these back by UPS at my expense?? I decided that this would not be something I should or would do. At this poing after all time spent I was a full credit to my account which is 2 King size pillows @ $89.00 each for a total of $178.00 plus any other fee or tax charges and I want that IMMEDIATELY. Additionally I want The Dump to make arrangement with UPS to pick up these pillows and return to store or whereever AT THE DUMP EXPENSE. Point out that none or any of this was my fault and that as a cusomters I deserve good Customer Service, plus the fact I was told by the store one thing and they have not followed through costing me time and effort to try and get it corrected I feel this is the least they can do.
The Dump Reviews
When I received my new couches the leather was torn and the center seat was broken.
They sent a guy out to fix it and he did a crap job.
The couches then started to fall apart more and the frames broke and the leather discolored.
I filed a claim for repair November of 2016 and I still have not got the items fixed.
I receaved a call from the manager yesterday and she stated the other damage was caused by the customer and they are closing my claim.
so sick of this discusting company never ever buy from them!
