The Cupcake Girls Reviews
Myself and some other Entertainers were attending the AVN show in Vegas. Cupcake Girls advertises aggressively on social media & constantly claims they exist to serve & support those in the Adult Entertainment Field. They had their own suite at the AVN wing at Hard Rock Casino. Me & my girls were beyond psyched to learn they were offering free makeovers as well as hairdos
Our excitement waned some upon learning although the services were "free" they demanded a $20 deposit "to secure your spot". Well if it's complimentary .....why we got to pay ??? They wouldn't clarify other than to say we would get our money back when we show up. They directed us via Facebook messenger to go on their website and make the donation. Three of us did so....so that's $60 !
Upon arrival they got to playing dumb saying we had NO reservations, none of us....
We were turned away and ended up hitting CVS across the street from the Hard Rock and makeup cost like 3x what it would at a neighborhood CVS because it a high-tourist area.
All in all we were out over $50 apiece. WHAT A RIPOFF
My wife and I decided to make a donation to the Cupcake Girls organization in Las Vegas after hearing how they claim to assist "marginalized women trapped in the sextrade". They say they give them cupcakes and help them get free medical and dental care. Turns out its all one big lie !
They ARE in fact a registered 501c3 non-profit recognized by IRS and Secretary of State in Nevada. The problem is they never help any women, they only refer them to other public & private charities. Basically they outsource them to every other social or human service organization letting THOSE charities bear the burden. Of course, they collect handsome donations for giving these ladies referrals to resources that can be found on google.
Joy Hoover, the CEO and founder goes around Las Vegas raising money for a clinic called "Operation Hope" that she says provides free medical and dental care to those ladies who come to Cupcake Girls for help. Unfortunately, this clinic closed its doors several years ago http://www.operationhopeinc.com/ yet Hoover still acts as though they were open and actively operating. She also claims to host a "support group" for the ladies where she serves coffee & cupcakes and claims to assist with transportation in emergency situations. On other social media sites such as this https://www.ratethatrescue.org/wp/organizations/the-cupcake-girls-las-vegas/#comments Becky Johnson, identified as the Chief Operating Officer admits that they dont serve cupcakes at their support group and dont ever transport clients for "liability" reasons. They why purport to do these things ? You arent required to offer them at all, even but LYING about it makes you look like the con artists you are. You also told the IRS the same in your filings, we looked them up online since we repeatedly demanded you make your tax returns available to us as donors and you refused.
Well youve been exposed for the con artist that you are. Hope you get your just "desserts". Exploiting women on the fringes of society is WAY uncool.
