I decided to look for an apartment early because I knew how hard it was. My lease was up on June 30, 2016, therefore I started May 2016. And because I love my daughter's school so much I decided to try and stay in the area. So I went to The Crossings @ Henderson Mill apartments. When I got there, I was greeted by Carl as he tried to help me with my inquires. Once my fiance and I decided that we found a place we decided to come back and apply. Though, I was applying on my own.
On May 9, 2016 I put in my application paying $50 for the application fee and $85 for the admin fee. About 2-3 days later, Carl calls me and says that I was approved for a 2 bedroom but not a 3 bedroom. I was excited but I initially wanted a 3 bedroom. My fiance and I talked and we decided we wanted the 3. So I called Carl back, asking him what could I do to get the 3 bedroom instead. He informed me that I would need about $350 a month more, which would make it 3x's the rent. I then asked him what was the best way to prove this and he informed me to have my fiance pay off his credit and then we apply together. So thats exactly what we did.
So on June 14th, I sent Carl some paperwork from my fiance and also paid another $50 for his application fee. As I was talking to Carl, I informed him that since their apartments lease so fast to make sure we get the 3 bedroom townhouse as we want to lease it. Carl then informed me to go ahead and pay the $250 deposit to hold the 3 bedroom townhouse. So on June 15th, I paid them $250 and Carl informed us that the townhome will not be done until July 25th. At this point, we knew we would have to do a month to month with our current residence as we wait until the apartment is ready. I just so happen to ask Carl if they had anything sooner and he informed me that he had an apartment coming available that would be ready by July 8th. So we asked if we could see it. He told us that when they were done cleaning the apartment, he would give us a call to come see it. So we are feeling good, making plans to move, etc. I called Carl like once a week to check the status, etc.
But on July 6th, Carl calls not to tell me that we can come look at the apartment but he called to let me know we was denied. Smh. At this point, I was baffled. I didnt understand what was going on. At this point Carl assured me that us paying off the credit would work and that everything was ok. But come to find out, he never processed my paperwork, and after 2 months of working with them and waiting on them, I was denied. I couldnt understand why I paid a deposit and I wasnt approved; why did he ask for the deposit? I was so mad! I told Carl several times that my lease was up June 30th.
Once he told me we was denied, he immediately started acting rude. They stop answering the phone when we called, Carl had really nasty remarks for us, and they told me it would take about 6 weeks to get my deposit back. Initially Carl told me I wasnt going to get the admin fee back, but rules said "after 72 hours of approval, no admin fee refund". Carl told us to never call there again and that we have nothing to do with us since we was denied. I even tried to call the district manager Teresa @ 615-227-8646, and she never called me back.
I am still currently waiting for my money, and have a bad taste in my mouth about the people and community. I have never seen a leasing office take 2 months to get you approved or denied. I never seen a leasing office take money without the correct documentation in place. Ive never been talk to and treated by anyone at a leasing office as Carl did. This is such a HORRIBLE community, not because of the actual property, but because of the people they have in the leasing office.
PLEASE do not put yourself through this. I dont recommend you try living there as long as Carl and Coma is in the office. Because Coma didnt have any idea on what was going on and what Carl was doing regarding my application and its only 2 of them in the office. Smh
