I was sold on placing and ad in Tampa directories by Lisa Davis. I paid for a full page ads around April 2017 which would supposedly target the members of 15 plus different country and Yatch club communitees in the Tampa Bay area. My first "Ad" apparently has not run. They did not send me a copy of the supposed printed directory as promised.
Obviously, I have not gotten any leads from the ad, as it was apparenlty was never produced. I first called "Lisa" in the spring (May or April, I think) and asked about getting a copy of the first printed set of magaizines. I was told they were having computer issues. Then I called again. This time they said they had mailed them out. Then I called again. This time they were doing computer upgardes. I never recieved anything. And I called agin, only to get another set of excuses. This has gone on for months. Multiple requests to have the magazines mailed or any proof that they went out to the areas promised. As of today (November 2017) I have not received any printed copies of the directories. I know people that live in these communitees and they have not seen any such publication. "Lisa" said she would send them to me at least 6 times and I received nothing - zero - zilch! It appears that this company will promise you alot, then do nothing, with zero intention of follow up. Then they use every trick in the book to wear you down with the goal of you just giving up.
Just like the reviews above... this is a scam. We paid quite a bit of money to be in several magazines in Tampa. They never went out.... This has gone on for over 6 months. I called today to ask for a status and was given the run around. Do not do business with this "SUPPOSED' company..
I spoke with Lisa and agreed to a large advertisement that would be mailed monthly to numerous country clubs in my area. She told me there was no risk, since they offer a 9 month full money back guarantee.
I did receive a copy of one sample magazine, with my info on the pages that we agreed.
This advertising was to be sent to local country clubs in my area.
After 9 months with no response, I attempted to cancel the contract. When I got Lisa on the phone, she said I had to call in August. August is here and I have called repeatedly and emailed, to no avail.
It is obvious this is less than legitimate advertising company.
After reading another complaint in regards to not sending the magazines to the clubs, I started my own research. I also found that they are not providing the "directory" as promised.
Of course this is 9 months later and too late to dispute with the credit card company.
Not only to they not abide by their contract as to refund policy, but they don't even send ANY DIRECTORIES to any one, at least not the people that I was told it would be sent.
This place is a scam and totally deceptive. I hope this saves one other person from being ripped off by these criminals.
Please do not use this company. It is a complete scam. I was notified by Lisa Davis to do advertising in their magazine that goes out to all the Country Clubs in my area which is Pinellas County, Florida. I was promised by Lisa Davis that I would have the front two isde cover pages (full pages). I paid $1,000.00. Distribution was going to be 75,000. I was also told that I would hear from their marketing graphic designer and never heard from anyone or seen any ads that were supposed to be created for my ad. I also spoke to the Country Clubs in the area after paying my $1000.00 that no magazines go to their country clubs nor do they allow any magazines sent to their members. I asked Lisa to provide me several copies of the books when printed for me to hand out. Of course, she said it costs too much money to give extra and that I wouldnt be able to have any mailed to me. At that point, I was already suspicious of a scam. I asked for a full refund and cancelled my ad. She sent me to her supervisor and from there it only got worse. He was absolutely unprofessional and rude and carried on for weeks about how he was still working on the refund. I never received my refund. Dont use this company. They are complete rip off artists and dont do anything that they promise.
I ordered and ad in the Country Club Directory in March 2016, It came with a 9 month Money Back Guarantee. Days later the company sent me the ad for approval. They had me with the Wrong company. They corrected it and then they had spelling wrong. They fixed the spelling and then there was something else that I noticed wrong, so at this point I was no longer feeling comfortable with this company and requested my money be returned.
They told me that it would be refunded. I waited months and nothing. I called and they told me that it was tied up at the bank they had switched banks and that the refund had to come from the bank and that I just had to wait. I never recieved anything for months and called back. Always saying that the refund was coming from the bank. I called and ask the name and number for the bank so that I could check on it. They gave me a name of a bank and a wrong number. .
I called them, but only could leave a message but never recieved a phone call back. Many times left messages emails and no response.
The last time that I finally reached them, they emailed me this bogus Money back guarrantee saying that I had 7 days from the date of purchase to cancel my order and submitted and approved by the company, in order fo the transaction to go through the system the way it was supposed to. Then it said that I had 220 days from the date of purchase to file a claim. This was the first time that I had heard or seen this guarrantee in a year. Also said that this had to be done by a signed affidavit , notarized with a witness!
I tried calling them after I recieved this by email, but they would not return my call or email. When I did get in touch with them they just lied to me.
It's been a year now, I have still not recieved my refund and they won't answer my calls or emails.
I am writing this in hopes of saving someone else from being robbed from the Country Club Directory. Lisa Davis, a salesperson from the Country Club Directory, called me and said that I could have the back cover ad on their publication for $700. She gave me the name of five country clubs in my area of Phoenix. The publication would be distributed every quarter for one year.
The first quarter publication was due out on July 1st. I received an email on June 22nd that the publication had shipped. After waiting three weeks, I emailed the company on July 12 notifying them that we had not received our copy.
A week later my husband received a call from Alan Friedman, their manager, saying he had been out of the country and there was a problem with the printer. He started out the conversation saying, "you're an attorney aren't you?" He thought he was speaking to another advertiser and confused my husband with an attorney that was, also, to be on the back cover distributed to Arrowhead Country Club which was one of the country clubs we had chosen.
Alan promised the directory would be out soon. August 3rd we receive our copy. The word Advantage was spelled Advantantage and they left off our Realtor and Fair Housing logos. I decided to drive to the five country clubs with my copy in hand. Not one person had ever heard of or seen this publication before. I heard the same story over and over that they only carry golf publications.
We disputed the charges with our credit card company, and had the chages removed. The Country Club Directory disputed our dispute and in the end we lost. We provided a two page letter and 24 pages of documents. The credit card companies don't want to reverse the charges because they get paid by the merchants.
If you go to facebook.com/thecountryclubdirectory/ and check their reviews you will see similar reviews.
I called the attorney in our publication that I mentioned earlier in my report. After talking to him and comparing notes he said that he was also on the back cover and was to be distributed to the Arrowhead Country Club. Obviously the is a scam.
