Collegecareerfoundation.org or Advancement Testing
On 11/4/2016 I received a call from Advancement Testing . The caller identified herself as Blayne Daniels . She stated that she was calling regarding materials my daughter had requested through school for SAT preparation. The materials consisted of 2 CDs. She stated that there was “no charge” and the CDS were complimentary if returned within 30 days. She then asked for my a credit or debit card to put a “hold” and again reassured me there would be no charge. Immediately after hanging up my account was charged. I then immediately called the company and spoke to “Rick” and told him to cancel the order, which after refusing agreed to do, however did not as the charge went through and no “credit”
was submitted . My daughter has stated did not request this material however they had her name address and phone number .
Filed a dispute with my bank, MA AG office and FTC
Was cold-called by this company despite being on the do not call registry. Company said it was a non-profit trying to help students with their SAT scores. Company convinced a person in my household that they would send out SAT prep software free of charge for a 30 day trial; that they would call to remind us that the 30 day period was approaching so we could return the item if we didn't find it valuable; that we would not be charged until after the 30 day period if we decided to keep the software. We were charged the fee immediately. Have called credit card company to dispute charge. Will be sending software back.
