The Bushel Stop Reviews

I had something similar happen when purchasing from the Bushel Stop. I was having a bit of a hard time locating some landscaping products that the Bushel Stop stated they carried and had in stock. I am not local to any of the locations so my drive was several hours. When I called I was quoted a price however when I arrived and had my supplies loaded the price quoted quickly jumped, considerably.

When I inquired they told me the price I was quoted was the wholesale price and not the retail price. I have no idea why I would have been quoted wholesale price (was it because of the quantity, I have no idea) if I never gave any indication that I was a wholesale customer.

Since I had driven the distance and now had two pallets worth of product loaded I was compelled to make the purchase. I will give them another chance in the future however if this happens again I will surely update here as well as refrain from ever purchasing from The Bushel Stop in the future.

They are not even close to being the only landscaping/aggregrate/media supplier in the state of Florida. Without further researtch I do wonder if The Bushel Stops are a franchise or they're all owned by the same company/individual. I state such as I have found companies who have owners that are actually on site full time to be very different from those companies whose owners are only on paper and rarely on site.

I have a sense this company is part of the latter and not the former. JS

I sent a workman to procure a half bucket of potting soil for me. He returned with a Bushel Stop receipt clearly marked "Potting Soil". The product contained no soil or any organic plant matter except wood pulp, and chipped scrap lumber. Something had been added to the wood pulp to make it appear brownish in color. Crushed styrofoam was added to give the appearance of bone meal. The product was clearly intended to pass for potting soil, but was actually processed trash. This was clearly an abusive and deceptive business practice, and all landscaping customers should be aware of the hazards of purchasing products from such an establishment.
