Tesla Motors Reviews

  • Mar 1, 2022

I ordered a model Y long range in April 2020 and was given a delivery date of June 2020. This date got pushed back to Sept 2020, then pushed back again to Dec 2020, then again to March 2020, then again to June 2020.

Every time I call to ask about whats going on the tesla reps just say "we don't know", "we'll let you know when you match for a vehicle". When I called and ask what the wait time is for the model I ordered they said 4 months! They are deceiving people to get order numbers up. Someone needs to keep this dishonest company in check.

Ordered a model 3 and placed a $250 order fee, applied for a loan to finance the car. Was immediately accepted for the car. noticed a $20,000 down payment.....called to inquire about this, i recieved a different story from each person I spoke to. Shawnee on the chat was by far the worstcustomer service rep. After lsitening to the advice given i was told to modify the order to lower the deposit which i did. the deposit went down about 3,500 by removing $14,000 in add-ons.

This is where the fun began, i had to re-apply for the financing, which hurt my credit even more than the initial credit pull. The details of the financial info were completely innacurate, i was told to wait months for them to correct it....so in other words they refused to tell me the cost of the car until it was time for delivery. I kept calling to get a straight answer, every time it was a different story and equally useless customer service.

I eventually cancelled my reservation and was told that the $250 deposit was not only non refundable but also non transferrable. This was entirely Tesla's fault and theyr chargin ME for they'r incompetence.

Long story short Tesla motors stole $250 of mine and countless hours of my time.

My car stopped all of a sudden in the middle of the road. It was towed to Tesla, Burbank. I didn't hear back from a representative until in the evening via App message stating the invoice was e-mailed. I never received the invoice until the next day. The invoice total is $8,669.08, labor costs $210 an hour, for rear half shaft 36mm, powertrain, and labor costs.

The car is out of warranty so this is an out-of-pocket expense. I was never warned of the cost of repairs after warranty regardless of how many times I asked the service department representatives what I should expect. They gave me an estimated price of around $14,000 for battery replacement and that was it. I never expected this type of cost these other types of issues.

The worst part is you cannot reach anyone in the department. All communication is through the Telsa App. They have the worst customer service ever!!! I am completely applued, disappointed, and feel as though I have been taken advantage of.

Quick breakdown:

- purchased Tesla (model 3)

- was told that Tesla doesn’t sell used model cars (as I was interested in model s used)

- if I didn’t purchase that day I wouldn’t get the car for months.

- was told traffic visualization came with the car I purchased, side mirrors on the car in reverse were adjustable since I couldnt see(they are not), and range on car was 265 exact (it is not)

- Allowed us to take the car home that we are buying (come to find out, Taylor said that the loaner cars are fully loaded, the one we have isn’t)

- Never was told about a long range option

- I tried to fix the issue the next day, I was shrugged off

- Johnathan (service rep) stated range is not exact, car drains battery overnight, not recommended to charge the battery to full 265 (sales rep said it was fine)

-Body parts on car a lot were off aligned, service dept won’t help or answer calls

- sentry mode drains battery (sales rep said it doesn’t, since the camera storage isn’t stored on the car) - I believe it is?

- drove car to the Bay Area - 5 hour trip turned into 9 hours with stops

- rear passanger door panel is not on correct

- there was green tape all inside the car

- the window trim wasn’t on right, hanging off. Had to put some on myself, the other one I couldn’t

- Adam told me that he would be working with the “remarketing team” to get me a better than normal trade in quote. Told me that he was working with a special team to get me a quote - and that the team should have offered me a long range vehicle and he apologizes for all the mess

- called me with a regular trade in quote (even thought he promised me a not normal trade in and will be escalating) He went to the Tesla.com website and submitted a trade in quote and was not working with a “special remarketing team"

- Kevin called me and asked for Adam and if I had received my trade in quote through the website, figured it out that it was me and not Adam, hung up and blocked me.

- Kevin blocked me

- Called and wanted to take my car in for the issues - the advisor wouldn’t give me his name and that he felt threatened because I asked for his name.

- My wife goes down to Tesla Costa Mesa to speak to Kevin Wong then speaks to Brian and finds out Jared is who accused me of threatening him.

- Julia called me after that interaction, the same day and gave me the 3 options

- Went back and said “it was a miscommunication”

-Car AC stopped working

-Car wouldn’t start

-Rear small window shattered by itself when driving on freeway, causing us to swerve because the window just popped out of nowhere and almost hitting the side barrier.
