My son was recruited by this program and despite my hesitation, I allowed him to attend. The school Director, Mr. Harold Rayford is very convincing in getting parents to believe in what he is selling but the problem is he does not follow through with any of his promises. The administration of the school is terrible and operated in a scam like manner. Example: when we enrolled our son, Mr. Rayford set him up as a homeschool student with another institute Gateway Christian Schools. I want to add that he enrolled my son as if he were his guardian even though I never gave him this authority. I did not find this out until I tried to retrieve his grades.
During the school year, trips to tournaments would often get cancelled, kids entered and left the program (granted, this was an academic program so how could you jump in and out without losing academic credit), staff members changed frequently, and parents were often left in the dark as to how their children were doing.
The classes were most likely not accredited as my son who had never in his life been an honor roll student, was now a straight "A" student.
Once on a trip to the Carolinas, the bus broke down due to running out of gas, and then the battery died. As a result, my son, one other student, and Mr. Rayford ended up walking for several miles in the freezing rain at night along a country road in the middle of nowhere. This all happened due to the bus driver not making the trip and Mr. Rayford and staff having to drive the bus. This was just one of the many negligent occurrences from the school's administration.
When it was time for grades for the 1st semester, I received and email with an attachment of a grade sheet that was obviously done in Photoshop or some other program as there was nothing official looking about at all.
As it currently stands, we are struggling to get my son registered with the NCAA Eligibility Center because they cannot complete the paperwork. When you call, email or text there is very little or no response. I feel this was a huge mistake to send our child to this program and I wish I could erase him time there. Nothing about this school is real, do not send your children to this institution.
