Attached herein are pix of the driveway that remains unfinished & 3 weeks after he pulled out of here now has grass growing through it. He also did not put the final coat on the left side , as you're looking down(1.5 to 2 feet) of the entire run of the driveway. Drive wasn't supposed to be paved; but it was supposed to have a material he's using here to cover it & harden to a concrete type finish (according to him).
Most of it is done; but I will have grass covering that entire area in no time given how it's already appeard in just 3 weeks. He says what do you want me to do, go over budget another 1500 dollars? I have no idea if that's true or not. I only know I've paid him over 214,000 dollars (not counting the cost of my lot) & I don't have a finished drive.
He also failed to consult me on the type of furnace I wanted in this house. Now I have to have the gas furnace replaced.
He's mades several LARGE decsions w/o consulting me, including omitting 2 cabinets I wanted in the kitchen.
The sklylight in the kitchen is way off center. I was staying in expensive temproary lodging & was forced in to a comrpomised situation where I could not negotiate a financial remedy as he threatened to tear it all out & ut it in the middle. That would have cost me another month & my health isn't that great where I can live in accomidations that aren't tailored to my health problems. I had to come up with the idea of putting another one in the master BR at his cost. The master BR still had much finishing to do at that point, while the kitchen had the cabinets in it already. The cabinets would have been damaged if he did what he proposed.
He also cost me a month of extended temporary lodgings by going around the way to start construction on another home while lying to me about the status of my build & the availability of his subcontractors. I've asled him several times to remedy the driveway. I'm not asking him again. I guess I have to go to court for all of this. His carpet guy didn't clean up after installing the carpets in 2 rooms & I had to do it as his brother left before I could inpect to see that it wasn't done & the doors in those rooms weren't working either.
His electrical contractor became hostile in the middle of this project & everytime I came to look at the progress when he was here he would try to start drama & problems to the point I would not come here when he was here. His name is Lynn Minller. I will be filing a complaint w/ the licensing beaureau about him. Along those lines, when I had only 5k more to pay mr Robbins he hinted at threats of his own, mentioning 'my safety'. I paid cash for this build.
A phone outlet was ommited by his hostile electrician; and there are permanent stains on my back deck where they left packs of nails in the same spot for months. I asked them to remedy it; but they just ignored my request. Other than that, the home seems to be of decent build quality. There was NO DUMPSTER on the project the whole time and there was always trash all over the place. When I threatened to escrow some funds for the skylight, he thretened to pull out of here & burned some scrap wood I had set aside. He did this on a Saturday & left the fire unattened when it was not all the way finished.
Later when I asked him to work on a Saturday to make up for the month he cost me in the temp lodgings, the said he doesn't work on Saturday.
