Purchased Ridgid 12v power tool set from Home depot on 3/5/2015 and registered the product on 4/1/2015. On 12/23/2017 I called Ridgid warranty department due to a defective battery. The representative stated that the battery is registered and covered under the 3 year warranty. However they can not replace the battery due to an error with the receipt being obtained from Home Depot. According to the rep, they sent me an e-mail requesting a copy of the reciept. When I told him that the product is registered under my account and it says nothing about not having the reciept. When I asked how is it my fault that there was a computer glitch, he said it wasn't my fault but without the reciept he won't honor the warranty. How absurd is this. They have an issue with home depot and blame me for not responding to an e-mail I never got. The rep told me to go to Home Depot and have them search for a credit card record. How do I remember what credit card I used almost 3 years ago, and if I even have that card any longer. If I paid cash, I'm out of luck.
I purchased numerous Ridgid tools because of their warranty, only to find out it is absolutely worthless. Searching the internet I see that there numerous complaints about the false advertising of their warranty. I have not read one review that was positive. I for one have bought my last Ridgid product.
TTI also produces homelite, Ryobi and other inferior products I learned researching them. This company is a farce, and everyone should be forewarned to stay away from their products.
