Advised me that a "trojan" virus was on my computer and that it was infecting my use of the Roku & therefore I needed a "support system" for $99.99 yearly or $399.99 for so may years (don't remember). And they got me, I paid $99.99 for protecting of my computer/ Not sure where - 877 area code is not assigned to,
I had a problem setting up my Roku and TechRoger's number came up on a Google search for help with Roku. A man named "Bob" helped me by having me allow him to gain access to my computer by my downloading an application called "TeamView". After he had gotten into my computer, he actually fixed the problem I was having with Roku but he also found a very "serious" problem. According to Bob, 2 servers had hacked into my home network and could access all the information on the computers in the network. He said that TechRoger could get rid of this problem and guaranty no further intrusion for 3 years for $399.95. I told him that I wasn't prepared to commit myself to spending $400 at this time so he gave me $99.99 and (stupid me), I believed him and paid him the $99.99, According to Roku, this is a scam and I have filed a report with my bank, in hopes of getting my money back. Once I had this done, I received so many popups and "crazy information" on my computer that I had to reboot my computer, and I deleted the information he had given me.
