I have a 1992 Ford E-150 Econoline van. I purchased it to use for tailgating to football games in Miami. The engine was not optimal and driving 75 South through alligator alley, I wanted to ensure I made it to and from my destination on a regular basis. I felt that investing in an engine remanfacture with 3 year/100,000 warranty was the way to go.
I took my vehicle there to be repaired and was assured that it was running well. I did for about a couple of weeks. I did notice that when I drove with the cruise control on whenever I would approach an incline/overpass on the highway it would disengage. I honestly didn't think nothing of it because it was a 1992 and there can be electrical issues. I didn't dawn on me until later I realize it was because of the engine not the cruise control The crooks/thieves at Tech 1 had not done the work described and what I paid for.
I started have serious engine problems where the van lacked power. On several occasions it had stopped on me and became difficult to crank. I returned from Miami and took it back to Tech-1. Needless to say, they knew what the problem was because they had not done the original work. My van sat for several days with out being diagnosed. First I was told it was a frayed spark plug wire, then I was told it was the tip of a spark plug. Nonethe less, nothing was done and my vehicle sat for days. I grew impatient and took it to another repair shop. When the new repair shop diagnosed the problem the owner called and asked me what previous what had been done on the engine. I informed him that I had a remanfacture done. He then informed me that all the original parts were still on the engine. A remanfacture requires major engine components to be replace this bringing the engine up to better than new standards. I had the new engine repair provide a new remanfactured engine (which I have had no issues since). I contacted Tech-1 and informed them that I expected a refund of my money. Of course the lying dogs didn't respond.
Left with no other choice, I took them to court. To make a long story short after several months to include a court supervised mediation we had a trial date. Tech-1 did not appear for the trail. I believe they knew their goose was cooked as thieves normally don't respond well to being caught. What the dirty dogs did was disolve their corporation under Tech-1 and reopen as A 1 Auto. The same people, same location, same registered agent. The two dirty dogs to be aware of is Curt Baily and Stephen Lineberger. Regardless of what name they are using for their facility and if they are working somewhere else they are two of the most dishonest, dirty business owners/operators/employees I've ever dealt with. These guys in my opinion are on the level of ISIS.
The fact they can rob, and steal from customers and then change their name to not have to pay a court ordered refund shows how low and dirty they are. I'm sure one they these two will get what is coming to them. In all honesty I don't want anything from them except my refund. I've attempted to have my case reheard without success against A 1 Auto since they are the same people. What is also sad is that the State of Florida is equally complicent because they allow them to dodge their responsibilities by simply dissolving their corporation. Dirty low-down dogs they are and will continue to be until they pay restitution and change their evil ways of doing business.
I highly recommend staying clear of these dogs and any business they may be associated with. Remember the names and don't under any circumstances do business with them and tell everyone you know to do the same.
