According to the State of Montana Dan Burke and Paul Erickson are the Directors/Owners of this Scam. I never dealt with Erickson. I did however, deal with Burke and Bill. I think later I spoke with some one named Pat-because these two were hiding out. He didn't have a clue what was going on and got very nervous on the phone. Like the other reports on here, Tax Protection took a couple thousand dollars from me and didn't do anything.
I kept asking what are you doing here? I just got double talk and we'll get back to you. I started getting cold feet because these people were acting like ripoff artists. As far as I know they never even spoke to the IRS. I kept asking to speak with the owner and i finally got in touch with Dan Burke, CPA. He is a lying POS. I told them to send me any kind of documentation to show they had done anything. I received nothing. Like the other reports on here I requested a refund and got Zero. At one point they tried to blame everything on someone I had never heard of. I told them this is not my problem and i don't know who you are talking about, and YOU are responsible for whoever you hire.
I would like to note that in their rebuttal they say we knew Bill Nooney's background and hired him anyway. Really? A Felon handling my financial information. Then they go on to say that he used a fake name for awhile. So these cons knew he was a felon and using a fake name and they were ok with it. I put a freeze on my credit cards and credit report because my lawyer said my information has probably been stolen, or given to someone else.
I want to let everyone know this company is a Fraud. I went on RO Report to file a complaint and wasn't surprised several other people complained.
What they did was charge me several thousand dollars and got ZERO results. I don't know what they did because all the people keep changing. It took me months to get the IRS papers from them that said 'they didn't send the additional paper work requested so we closed the case'! Dan Burke would not return my call.
He is the owner and apparently a CPA, although he is likely going to lose his license as we are filing a complaint too. I finally talked to Burke and he is a pathological liar. He said I would have to pay them more money!! Once I finally got the IRS papers Burke would never call me back. They just kept saying he wasn't in.
The original guy I was dealing with was on parole for financial crimes and SEC FRAUD! Look up William Nooney on GOOGLE. This is their manager. He told me his name was William Williams. I had an attorney call their office who finally figured out Nooney had been using the name Williams.
I read their rebuttal. Hilarious! First they admit they knew about Nooney. Google the guy, and Tax Protection Services said they 'had no problem hiring him'. He stole 100's of thousands of dollars! AND they admit they knew Nooney was using a fake name. So they were ok hiring the guy but wanted him to use a FAKE name. Are you kidding me folks!

Thank God i found all this bad info on the internet before i had spent a bunch of money. I sent them $350. When i read all these negative posts etc i called and asked for some references. They said they would get me some and never could provide them. I asked for a refund before they did any work and Bill told me they don't give refunds!! Then he tells me i signed a contract and they have the right to collect money. I told them i was going to contact the State.
I see they fleeced someone else. I paid them over $2000 and they did nothing. They said they were ready to do the work but the situation corrected itself as i set up my own payment plan with the IRS for $110 a month. Took me about 30 minutes. When i called and asked for a refund they said to send a letter, which i did. Then they sent me a letter said to call them. This Dan Burke is the owner and a CPA. I talked to Bill but he said they had done work but he couldn't say what just that they had me in the computer. Complete BS!! This Bill came on the scene late and didn't have a clue what he was doing. It was a joke. I talked to an attorney who said Burke set up this other company, Tax Protection Services to avoid risking his CPA license. It is a scam and in research they are both located in the same office. FRAUD!!

In fact, i sent them nothing because the guy i was working with left and a new guy name Bill took over. Bill had no clue what he was doing and had never done this before. He told me. I told them i wanted a refund and they just gave me the run around. Told me to write them a letter. Then said i needed to have a call with this Dan Burke who is the owner and a CPA. More run around would never return any money said they earned it. Like i said, they did ZERO work. They didn't even call the IRS. So i call the State of Montana CPA board and they said because it is separate company and no work had been done that constitutes CPA work there was nothing they could do. So Burke started this other company so he could escape the CPA licensing thing and keep from getting sued. He is a FRAUD and a scumbag. His CPA company is Burke and Associates, CPA Missoula Montana

I would have even given them 500 for there trouble and they refused! I filed a report with the CPA board and they said because Tax Protection does not do accounting they have no jurisdiction. COMPLETE BS. First, Burke owns the company and is a CPA and does tax returns for Tax Protection. He started this side company so he could scam his way out of the licensing issue. Total Fraud! Additionally, the guy who is handling the cases is William Nooney who said his name was William Williams. GOOGLE William Nooney!!! He is on parole.
