Tate Publishing & Enterprises, LLC. Reviews
A couple of years ago, I tried to publish my first book & had no experience in this area. Tate Publishing and Enterprises, LLC signed a contract with me for $1,144.00 to publish & market my first book & other future ones (for life as the contract said). The company took my money & I got no contact from them ever since in spite of my relentless calling.
Later, I learned on the Internet that the company made lots of promises to lots of customers like me, but never delivered them. I had no recourse & did not know where or how to file my complaint or perhaps class action lawsuit against this company. I also wonder if my filing would make a difference. With this website here, I want to file & see if anything might happen. Perhaps any responsbile party might repay the damage he/she has caused me & get his/her deserving penalty. Thank you.
Tate Publishing violated the publishing agreemant, received $ 900.00 dollars from my bank account did not publish
the book The Sheep and The Goats-16916192629, as Tate Publishing agreed to.
When I first signed on with Tate Publishing, it was a contractual agreement that I would receive the following services: Advertisement, Publicist, and Royalties.
I was asked to pay a retainers fee of $2,300. It would be refunded once I sold a thousand books. This fee was for the publicist.
Tate never followed through with their end of the contract. The advertisement was a lie, the publicist was a person who lived in the Philippines and had no experience in the industry, and the market manager only returned my calls when I wanted to order books.
Throughout the three years that I stayed with Tate, they might have booked me five book signings. I did the rest on my own. This was promised in the contract as well. To be honest, the contract meant nothing to Tate because 90% of what Tate had promised in bold letters skipped past their dirty noses.
I finally get tired of poor quality work and countless errors that I asked to terminate my contract. It took constant hounding through phone calls and emails to finally get a contract to terminate my relationship with Tate. In the contract and other means of writing, Tate swore that I had all rights to my books and that they will have my book removed from their website and all other sites in 90 days. That time limit ended on November 15, 2016. I have sent many emails and after sending several, Trinity Tate contacts me through email with "I understand you have a question". This is one of their many tactics in skirting around the issues.
Now I have the rights to my books and I can't get picked up by another publisher because Tate is not complying with the contract that (Tate and I) both parties signed. I have been turned down twice by two different publishers simply because my books are still under Tate's name.
They do not have the right to keep my books and stop me from moving forward. I have filed a complaint with the attorney general.
I engaged Tate Publishing to publish my manuscript. They did edit and set-up the book, and they provided limited marketing services. When I ordered and paid for 20 copies to provide to reviewers, they promised to deliver in a few days. Over three months later, no books and no responses to my numerous inquiries. As far as responding to my complaints, they've fallen off the face of the Earth. Additionally, despite their promises (and they claim to be a Christiasn inspired company) there are no copies of my book available to be bought on Amazon.
