Tammi Fields posted a Mobile home for rent on their property on Craigslist. My husband and I came down from Michigan with our 3 kids. My husband called inquiring about the rental. She then called us back, saying that the rental was available that the person occupying it was in the process of moving out. She told us that her and her husband were in the process of cleaning things up. We arrived with our 3 boys around 10pm. Tammi and her husband Doresy Fields were in the rental removing personal belongings and throwing them into the back of a truck. She told us that the previous renter was 9 months pregnant with a two year old little boy, and the husband had up and left her. She could no longer afford the rent so she had to move back in with her mom, and could not take a lot of her things with her. Tammi then proceeded to show us around while her husband continued to pitch things into the back of the truck.
Upon entering one of the rooms I noticed a brand new stroller, and baby bouncer among other things I thought odd to leave behind. Especially a pregnant woman now on her own. She was telling me that the girl had left a bunch of clothes that I could go through to see if I wanted anything, and that there was a bunch of toys that the kids could go through. Just talking to her I knew something was just not right with her. She then started to go over the contract and proceeded to tell us everything that she needed to get it started. She said that because it was so late (our kids were exhausted) that we could go over the contract and fill it out the next day.
The next morning I began reading over the contract, and instead of listing herself as a landlord, she listed the person renting as house guests. Which meant that they could enter the property anytime they wished. My husband and I then had to travel to Orlando to take care of some things, so that we could finish the paperwork. We ended up getting stuck in Orlando, and couldn't make it back to the rental till the next evening, and we couldn't find her phone number to get ahold of her to let her know what was going on. When we arrived at the property the next afternoon, she was coming out of our rental and proceeded to yell at us that we didn't get ahold of her to let her know what was going on. We told her that we would like to get our belongings. She then told us that we could have our stuff back if we gave her $250. We told her we didn't have that. She then continued yelling saying she was calling the police to get us off of the property. We told her everything we had was in that house. She took all of our clothes, our kids clothes, movies, toys, everything we had. She stole from 3 little boys. This woman is a phycho path, and a theif and I hope to god that nobody ever rents from these people.
