I paid $219 in advance for 3-nights anywhere. When the package came it provided a website to use for booking. No phone numbers. Initially the website didn't have a number or instant chat either. There were only a limited number of locations. And there was no way to pick one and know for certain that I would be able to get an accomodation. I had to pick three and maybe they would come back with one of my 3 or something near by. I suppose for some vacation roulette is OK. But I tried to look several times throughout the year for something and could never find anything that worked. Now my certificate expired and they will not extend it unless I pay another $149. Really?! They take your money and make it impossible to book a decent vacation. Total Ripoff!!!!

same happened to me

I bought a 3 night package from these hustlers in two years ago for $160.00 after a phone call claiming this package was only available if immediate purchase was made. They typically don't allow you time to read up about them. During the year I was not able to take the vacation since my spouse was not available. When I called them prior to expiration they said they could extend it with a payment of $100.00 that could be used as a meal voucher at designated restaurants. What I found out is that typically these food places would be far removed from any hotel which they said was available making them useless.

I bought the extension believing that somehow I could make it work and when a year later still was not able to take the vacation I decided it was time to request a refund. When refund was mentioned to these swindlers they would moan that it was "out of their hands". Then I made one final request for a refund a few days ago. The guy on the line was rude and sarcastic claimed that my package had expired and that it was not his problem that I could not take the vacation in the alloted time. I then asked why they were refusing to refund me? they just kept repeating about my package having expired.

So, I am out of $260.00 and having little choice except to file a complaint with the proper authorities. I also found out that these shady characters use 3 different names to sell their product, Take three nights, Take two nights and Take a getaway. Before you know it they may get re-incarnated as something else. Why they are still in business is beyond me, most likely due to a cleverly written brochure with fine print written by crooked lawyers and backed by corrupt politicians.

Take Three Nights SCAM

I have had the same experience as people mention in this forum. Take3Nights were not able to get me a 3 night hotel stay without attempting to get me to pay more money. They have been calling me for nearly 2 years now. They always seem to be trying to upsell and get me to pay more money to "extend" my term. When you tell them no they very unprofessionally hang up on you. Time and time again, phone call after phone call. Probably the worst experience I have had with any company, enough so that I even waste my time online updating these forums to expose them and let people know to avoid them. Take3Nights DOES NOT GIVE YOU WHAT THEY ADVERTISE. I think they are a SCAM and should be stopped. I WOULD LIKE MY MONEY BACK BUT QUITE FRANKLY I JUST WANT THEM TO STOP CALLING.

Awful - Do not waste your money!

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I purchased a Take Three Getaway package last year for $300, which included a 3 night stay within one year of purchase and then another 3 night stay / cruise within the second year. When I called multiple times to book a vacation within the first year, I was presented with various hotel / resort options at my desired destination. When I looked up the price/taxes of the same hotels online, the taxes were significantly less than what they were going to charge me. They added in a sizable "booking fee" on top of the taxes. When I booked, they said I would have to pay for the hotel taxes, which in my mind would have been around $30 - $60, so I thought it sounded like a worthwhile purchase. In reality, the hotel stay cost through Take Three was going to be comparable to if I just booked directly through the hotel, plus the $300 I paid initially.

Since my year is almost up, someone from the company called me to pitch an extension for my package, which they framed as an option due to the Coronavirus. They wanted me to pay an additional $199 to extend the package for a year and a half and to work directly with the person on the phone, rather than through the customer service number. He also said that the cost for the hotel will be less because he will handle it himself. My question is why wasn't this the case from the beginning? The price should have always been minimal to book. They should never have been trying to charge me the obscene "booking fee". I may have actually used to package this year if that was the case.

Additionally, while on the call with the new sales person trying to get me to extend the package expiration, I find out that if I don't use the 3 night package within the first year, I don't get the second three night package within the second year. This was not clearly explained to me previously, so I was under the impression I had another year to use my second package. In actuality, I am losing it all because I was not offered a good enough deal within the first year.

I decided not to give the company an additional $199 of my money, and to look at my $300 as a sunk cost.

Take Three Getaway is an awful company, scamming people by taking advantage of their wanderlust.

same here

Same happened to me, i took what ever they had just not to lose out and have to pay the $149 like you mentioned to extend it. I took a Dallas location and they booked me on july 3rd when I wanted and asked for July 4th weekend hoping to be checked in on friday or saturday, the 1st or the 2nd. Because I did not pay the extra 30$ for cancel protection(another addtional fee on top of paying hotel taxes) they would not do it.

I am afraid to find out how much the cruise will cost me? :-/

We've heard you; let us look into it.

I have read your comments about Take Three Nights, and we apologize for the difficulty you had in trying to book your vacation.

If you would kindly send us an email -- to [email protected] -- with your certificate number, we can look into the matter and see what we can do.

Thank you.

Don't fall for this scam. If they call you, do yourself a favor and hang up.

Take Three Nights SCAM or just unprofessional ?

I have an almost identical experience as the above. In early 2015 I paid ($175), they tried to get me to pay more for my "free" nights hotel stay, when I asked for money back they didn't agree, I told them to forget it, they then stopped calling. In March 2016 they started calling again to extend my offer. They then wanted my credit card number again !! Good-bye ! I think this is a SCAM company and should be avoided.

Absolutely Awful

This company is awful.

I won a "deal" with them through a county fair and paid $199.00 after being told it was a $300.00 from their regular offer and that this deal would include a three night stay at a hotel in one of their 40 destinations and $100 "dining dollars".

Being an idiot 21 year old looking for a good deal on travel I took them up on it.

Trying to just book with this company was a nightmare. Their website is not clear at all and doesn't seem to indicate that you get ANY preference with destination or hotel. I decided to try to call them, but their call center is only open from 9 AM to 5 PM which is absolutely ludicrous (I work in a customer service call center open 9 AM to 9 PM!). One day by the time I got in touch with them I already had to return to work and asked that they call me back before noon so I wouldn't have to wait on hold again. They called me at 12:30 PM as I was walking into work.

When I was finally able to get in touch with them after a 15+ minute hold time to FINALLY book, it was incredibly difficult trying to find a hotel to stay at (Montreal, QC) and by the time I selected one I thought was reasonable I was told it was an additional $51.00 a night for the three nights. Since I was going with a friend and we were splitting the cost I gave up and paid an extra $229.10 for the booking on top of the initial $199.00 (so now I've given them 428.10 for a three night stay in Montreal when I could have booked a nicer B&B myself for cheaper).

After receiving a confirmation for the reservation but no receipt I decided to e-mail them to get one as I needed one for my records and my friend's. My booking was made on June 22 and I e-mailed them the same day requesting further information regarding the "dining dollars" as I had not yet received anything about those and to request a receipt. I e-mailed again on June 24 reminding them to respond. I went on my *real* vacation for ten days and returned to find an envelope with the $100 "dining dollars", no receipt, and no e-mail responses.

So I e-mailed again yesterday reminding them to please for the love of God get in touch with me.

No response.

Two e-mails marked "URGENT -- RESPONSE REQUIRED" and an irate phone call finally got a floor manager to get in touch with me and send me a receipt (which initially was just an e-mail -- seriously?? When I asked for a legitimate invoice the manager sounded flustered and said they never did such a thing -- what kind of business are you if I can't get an invoice?)

Why did I have to become the bad bitchy customer to get a response? Why is it so difficult to respond to an e-mail? Why is everyone placed on hold for 10+ minutes at a time (hire more people if you're that busy?!)?

I'm absolutely appalled, disgusted, and angry with your service. You're a horrible company who doesn't understand the meaning of customer SERVICE and convenience.

I hope more people catch onto your scam and you go out of business. There's no place for companies like you anymore in this day and age anyway.

-10/10, would not ever use again. Telling all of my family and friends to never use you.

DO NOT BUY......DO NOT BUY They find an excuse not to book your stay until your package is expires. ..... They win they got ur money and gave you nothing for it!!!!! yes this is a real company that exists and yes they realy do book poeple but only after gettting twice the amount of payment they requested of you to begin with!!! I bought a package from them sounded really good. They gave me a number to call and book and even a welcome packet but WHEN IT CAME TO BOOKING HELL BEGAN!! The hold time to speak to a booking agent was well over an hr and then she says neither of my destinations are available for my date which by the way was in middle of March not a busy time at all!! Then she says she will find date and call me back NEVER DID! So I called back and held on for another hr till I got someone on the phone again played with dates and finally found a date that was good but she JUST had to confirm my stay with hotel and call me back AGAIN NEVER BOOKED MY STAY OR CALLED ME BACK! At this point I am tiered so i booked directly with another hotel and paid from pocket not used their package .

A few months later they call me to sell me another package !! And when I told them I never used the previous one she says oh it expired yesterday and we can extend it for u without a problem oh great I think right? NO!! Cause she says YOU HAVE TO PAY $150 to extend it and oh yeah now I can give a ANOTHER number to call and book so u don't have to hold on for an hr. So after getting another $150 out of u they give u the REAL number to call!!!

Scam - we are still waiting

We were given false information also. We were told that once we paid $289.00. We would get 3 nights in a hotel, a free cruise and $500.00 off a second cruise. We took our 3 night trip and paid additional money $600.00 for our hotel, as we were told that must be taken first. Then we tried to book the free cruise and we were told there was no free cruise but we could take a cruise out of Florida and get $450 off the price. We said not happy but we would research a ship, date etc.. and call them back. When we called them back no one answered the phone and our calls have not been returned.we are still waiting to hear from them. Wish us luck please

Manipulative Call?

I went to a couple of festivals in May and entered into a bunch of home improvement things. I don't remember entering into anything that would win me a trip, but these guys called. When I answered, I said hello...the phone paused, and they said "I'm calling her right now!" to their manager. I said hello again...they said I won a $300 trip credit from this festival, and I'm 1 out of 10 people. Then they said "girl, we've been trying to get a hold of you!" with multiple email and phone call attempts - I checked my email and spam folders - there's one email from them as of today. I thought I would share this info, in case anyone else felt they were being manipulated.

What a scam, this company should not be allowed to do business

Told me I was a winner from a raffle I entered during a vacation convention I went too. I said I needed time to the nk about it, their pitch was this is only a one time offer to get 3 nights hotel within first year then the following year I will have a 4 day cruise for free for the price of $250.

After I purchased it I realized anyone could get this offer, meaning I was a winner of being scammed.

I tried to cancel thru my credit card but wasn't able too. A month before my 3 nights would expire I get a call to book something or I will lose everything. Last minute travels mean expensive airfare so we drove to Florida to use it. If I were to extend this deal it would have been another $150. The hotel they booked for us was horrible, and I have yet received anything in regards to my free cruise, yet I get emails to pay for another 3 nights for the same price I first paid for. I feel so robbed never again, lessen learned stay away from this bs company.

BIGGEST RIP OFF EVER

I wonder how this company is still allowed to operate when so many reports are out they are scamming people. I booked a vacation about a year ago from email from YTB. I actually forgot about the time frame to book the stay. A person by the name of Christopher called to say that my time was running out and because it was peak season he needed to sell me an extension for $149 with a rebate of $100 I fell for it once again. After the call he gave me a reservation number 800-566-8281 where there were a couple of offers. I by passed them the first time and the phone hung up on me. I called back and repeated the same process same result. Third time I called I made one of the offer selection just to speak with someone. The rep. attempted to sell me something I told him I was not interested I just wanted to make my reservation the guy gave me the 800 information call number 800-555-1212 and hung up the phone. This confirmed my suspicion that I had been taken. I called my bank and cancelled my card so the other charged of $149 would not pay. I am furious that I lost the initial $149 a year ago before discovering this site. Something needs to be done to shut this company down.

Total RIP

I purchased a Take3 vacation package. Because of varies things I was unable to take the vacation. I tried to cancel but was talked into an free extension but I tried to book twice the first I was unable to go the called back to book and was told they didn’t have anything available in that area. Now with COVID-19 I am afraid to travel the representative was very rude and sarcastic and explained how they paid for my accommodations so that when I was ready to book my vacation the funds would be there he extended it again for three months even though we’re not sure if North Carolina will be one of the states that lift the restrictions they are rip off we need to file a class action suit against all of the three names of a company and see if we can get something done that way.....

This company is selling a vacation package that purports to be a deal with a bonus stay after the first usage. However, the properties are usually lower end and if you want to stay at a better facility there is an upcharge. Also, availabilty is problematic especially during peak seasons. Do not even engage when they call.

Thanks for the heads up

I travel often and i know $250.00 package they were trying to sell me was unbelievably cheap for what the travel package contained. My next step was to buy my self sometime and look up a little bit more on this company. Then I proceeded to ask for the website name give it a quick google search and when typing in the website name and most popular searches are "(companies name) scam" that should tell most people its a 100 percent scam. Love that I came across this site so I could leave a comment about my experience.

I emailed this letter about a week ago Dec 23rd and didn't get a response so I called today Dec 31st and spoke with a Denise who said she was the manager. She informed me that she spoke with a booking manager and they told her that I couldn't get a refund or credit because I failed to inform the hotel.. She refused to listen what I was telling her.. I told her Yes i did inform the hotel they sent up the Security Guard to try to fix the heater.. She said No we can't help you and she also said And you forfeit / Cancelled your other 3 nights coming to you because you checked out of the Hotel. I told her there was no way I could of slept there another night with my family with no Heater and Toilet leaking. She obviously wasn't listening to me I had to keep repeating that the hotel was notified because they sent up the Security Guard... Not a maintenance to fix heater and toilet.

She really was getting me mad calling me a liar.. I told her I was going to report it to the BBB and she said oh you enjoy doing that kind of stuff... So I just asked for a another manager and she said but I'm the manager. I said No I want to speak to someone over you. She put me on hold and came back and said a booking manager by the name of Dana McCormick will have to investigate with the hotel and call me back. So in the mean time I wanted to see if anyone had any issues with TAKE3 thats when I seen this website.

It's also kind of funny that when they call your home to solicit this travel/hotel package they start with a price of $ 300.00 and they worked it all the way down to $ 99.00 a package. So I gave in an purchased the $ 99.00 it sounded good at the time. But when you go to book your 3 nights the booking agent says were sorry but that area in San Diego it looks like we don't have any hotels available.. But 15 miles away in Mira Mesa we have a Hotel but I don't recommend it because of the area and hotel..(Thats where they get you ) She said I do have a Hotel in San Diego but you have to pay the up grade of $46.00 a night... with taxes it came up to $ 180.00 or so...Thats when I chose the upgrade and ended up with a hotel that was not actually an upgrade. I wish I would of looked up the reviews on the Wyndham hotel before paying the upgrade.

Any assistance with this issue is very much appreciated.

Take Three Nights Review

I tried to book my vacation in Fort Lauderdale, Florida for mid-February (well before spring break), but was told there were NO HOTELS AVAILABLE with the "free" rooms - only some others that would cost as much as the beachfront condo I just rented there for the rest of the week!

Apparently, hotels offer their rooms at times that work for them, NOT the suckers who bought this vacation package.

Bottom line: Rent a wonderful condo (with kitchen and other great amenities) from VacationRentals.com, and go whenever and wherever you want!!

I purchased two packages with this form with lots of promises of free stay and crusie options.

I tried to book in Savana Georgia and they had nothing available.

Later I tried to be really flexible and gave them a list of destination cities and a two week window starting Dec 1.

After waiting a few days for a response they finally called and said that this was a busy time and they needed at least 30 days notice to book.

After explaining that this was my second attempt to book before my certificate expired and I just wanted to go somewhere..............the agent hung up on me.

I called and asked for a manager who did speak with me. So I said is Thanksgiving to Christmas all busy season and he said yes.

So I asked to travel in January after my expiration date and refuesed unless I paid more money for an extension.

This organization is a rip off for sure.

  • Nov 6, 2015

I got a call from these people and they would not take not for an answer. They wanted to sell me 3 nights of hotel. The person said I would have a chance to look it over and cancel if I want. The next day, I did just that. On their website it tells you what state you can go to, but never the exact location. How can I possibly want to book a hotel not knowing where I will be going so I can find the best flight? Anyway, I was not happy, so I called the very next morning and asked to cancel. After a long conversation of trying to convince me, they agreed. Now, 6 weeks later, I still don't have the money in my account. I called again today. The person on the phone kept on and on trying to convince me. I said multiple time, "can you just cancel?" He would come back and say things like, "but I don't understand why you would not want to go on vacation." After 20 minutes, I got very angry and yelled at him to JUST CANCEL!!!! He kept on trying. At this point, I was screaming off the top of my lungs asking him to "*#*& CANCEL". Yes, I did, I used to F word and he still tried to convince me. Finally, he said I will submit it to the review committee. I asked when my money will be in my account, he said "I am just submitting it to the committee, no guarantees." Bottom line, they sell you 3 nights, but you have to pay at least $15 per night for taxes. They say you get 3 more nights, but the first 3 and 2nd 3 can't be consecutive. You put in a request for the three nights, you indicate your first 3 choices at three different locations. You can't specify the exact location, just the state you are going - not all states are available. So, you put in your request and wait to get a response. Meanwhile, you have no idea if you can get good tickets to the location you are going. They don't have anything within driving distance to me, so I have to fly. So, bottom line, this was not for me. I tried to cancel, but they would not. I am hoping this review committee refunds my money. What a SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was in Vegas at mgmg where they were stationed. I was offered a 3 night stay for $99 any where. I had a year to choose. A few months later I called to book a stay in vegas and nothing was available for the dates I wanted. Months later I tried again and again I was told the same thing. These dates that I was picking even the hotel website said it was available and for very cheap. SO I said I wanted my money back. They said I couldn't get cash back and that they would send me vouchers for entertainment.

They said they had some rooms available but they were basically not free. It was like me calling an agency and having them book a room for me. I could do that on my own. I asked what was the $99 that I sent them for and they said for vouchers. I said but i was told the $99 were for the payment of 3 night stay. And the guy on the phone didn't say anything. This is a scam and if I see them selling this to anyone I will stop them in their tracks.

  • Nov 18, 2019

They claimed I was paying $200 for a 3-night stay at a hotel, to use within a year, but when I went to use it, the added price that they called taxes and fees was MORE than what it cost to book directly with the hotel!!

So the $200 was lost, and one might as well book direct with the hotel - or use another fair 3rd-party booking like Hotel.com or something like that.

You can bet they they make the $200 PLUS a lot of money from the hotel booking, because you are paying an exhorbitant rate.

  • Nov 6, 2019

I received a call from Take 3 Getaway on June 13, 2018 to purchase a 3 night 4 day vacation to a destination of my choosing. I paid $299. I confirmed my dates for June 5, 2019 for a hotel in Puerto Vallarta and paid another $110.80 for hotel taxes on April 6, 2019. I also purchased trip insurance for $30 from Grand Assurance Protection.

I became very sick the weekend before the trip and was unable to fly. I cancelled on June 3, 2019. I was not told that I needed to reschedule my vacation before the expiration date, which is not listed anywhere. I was instructed by the paperwork of Grand Assurance that I received from the Take 3 Getaway representative to submit a claim within 30 days of cancelling by mail to: 7560 Commerce Court, Sarasota, FL 34243.

I submitted by claim form and supporting documentation on June 19, 2019 and never heard back from anyone. They don't have a phone number or email. I could only go through Take 3. After about six weeks, I called Take 3 and was told they had no record of me submitting a vacation insurance claim.

I resubmitted to the same address, this time using certified mail and waited another 6 weeks. I never received any letter from Grand Assurance explaining how they plan to handle my claim and I have no way to get in touch with them. I looked them up on the internet and did not find any company by this name.

It's now August and I start receiving phone calls from Take 3 asking if I would like to rebook the "vacation that I missed". I told them that I would and they told me that I would need to pay again. I explained that I expected my trip insurance to cover the cost of rebooking.

I NEVER received anything from Grand Assurance. Instead the Take 3 agent always said that he/she would look into it and then no one ever got back to me. Several weeks later someone else would call and offer to rebook me if I paid another $299. This went on for months until I told them I planned to file a fraud claim.

BUYER BEWARE!

My wife bought the 3 night hotel/cruise package and has been trying to get a confirmation from them. She has called many times and asked for a confirmation only to be told that, "We have sent you an email many times." Finally today she told them to mail the confirmation which seemed to take them aback. The 'agent' had to check with his supervisor to "See if we can send you a letter."

They booked us into a hotel in August which was not the date that we had asked for nor the town (to be fair, it was in the state). That generated a bill from them because "We had not attended the presentation and were a no show." We called and explained that 1. we had not asked for a hotel in August. 2. that we didn't want to go to that town specifically 3. had asked for a date in February not August. This is a definite scam company. We are writing off the money we paid and will certainly not go on the 'cruise' which would probably turn out to be a leaky row boat.

WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE LOVED IT VERY MUCH!

FOUND EVERYTHING TO BE JUST AS IT WAS TOLD, AND THE COST WAS VERY GOOD FOR THE ACCOMMODATIONS.

Very Shady "company"

I am experiencing the same run-around as most everyone else here. Take 3 Nights is a scam! They cannot book me into a property I chose even though it would be off-season, without an additional amount for "fees & taxes" that would've more than doubled the amount that I originally paid. My dates were flexible, but supposedly that location (Hilton Head) is more expensive "anytime". The paperwork I got said the hotel taxes would be approximately $5-15 per night. I was quoted it would be an extra $256! What's their tax rate???

Steer clear of this scam company. I learned my lesson too late. I will keep pursuing this though because they need to be stopped. A class action suit would be in order...

Read before you buy

Very interesting call I just had with a representative named Scott (if that was his name). I was contacted by a rep that gave initial inside on the package deal being offered. I had several questions regarding the package and what it included and did not include. His initial offer was $249 and lowered to $200 once I advised I could not afford to pay today. I advise I did not have a credit card to make the purchase and he proceeded to tell me that I made him work that hard and asked a lot of questions to be "broke" and then proceeded to tell me that I was "full of s*&^%" because how do I travel ANYWHERE without a credit card. Clearly someone needs to introduce him to Dave Ramsey .... shaking my head....all I can say is don't do it based on previous reviews and my brief contact with them!

I purchase this after being called by a representative about an awesome offer. This was the second time I received such call. The first time I took the deal and it worked out okay. I did pay extra money on top of what the already had, but I let this go this I was getting an oceanfront room with a full kitchen. Howevet, this time around I am determined not to pay anything additional. I have called about 3 or 4 times to make a reservation. Each time I am told they don't have any rooms available or that they do, but it requires additional money. I just called the early part of March for dates in mid-April, to be told nothing is available. My arrangement with the ends in May. I called back to get travel dates in June. Now I'm told that us outside of my arrangement and I have to book and travel within it. Thus is the first time I have been told that. Everyone prior only stated I had to book within the one year of pating for the travel accommodations. I will never utilize this company again and they are refusing to give me back my money. I am not able to just travel on a whim as we work and have school to consider. There is planning involved, but take three just takes your hard earned cash.

total scam

I bought the take 3 package for about $150. we tried three times within the year to book 3 nights somewhere and each time they said there was no space. we were totally flexible on dates and they still said that there was no availability for any three nights for the next 8 weeks at any hotel in our one chosen location. this is very strange. when I complained and escalated the agent's manager said (unprompted) " this is a legitimate business". which means that it is not a legitimate business... they did transfer me to another agent who tried to sell me an extension for "only 149$", so that I could be frustrated for yet another year. My package expires soon, I have not used it and. do not buy this. It is a total scam. they sell you a service, they do not deliver, they just keep all your money.

Total scam

They make you buy a package and promise travel dates availability. But when comes the time to book everything is always sold out and have to pay extra to extend. Bullshit. Don't ever book with them. I'm taking them to court for scam and phishing
