I was hounded for several weeks by a Take Shape For Life health coach. I finally met her for lunch because I was curious about how she lost 80 pounds. She said she was with a company with a great reputation and was having a lot of fun as a health coach. She told me that the food was really good and all natural. When I asked her if they used artificial sweeteners, she said no.
All natural and no artificial sweeteners sounded great, so I ordered about $360 worth of food and signed up to be a health coach as well. I was a little disappointed that the food all came in little, and I mean little dry packages! But my coach told me how fabulous everything was, so I thought it must be okay. After all, she lost 80 pounds! I had also told her when we were sitting in front of her computer making my first order that I detest peanut butter! I started the first day with the WORST hot chocolate ever followed by 2 bars loaded with peanut butter. Yuk! The next meal was a chili-like substance. Then the digestive pain from the sucralose kicked in, and I knew I had been lied to!
I trusted my coach's word about being all natural with no artificial sweeteners, so I hadn't bothered to read the ingredient label. My fault for trusting someone who should have my best interest at heart as my own personal health coach! The sucralose would have been a deal breaker from the beginning, as I know I don't tolerate it at all. I told my coach the problem I was having. She suggested I try probiotics and stick with it....really? Then she said I could still be a coach and she could get me some of the limited meals without sucralose. By then I had read the ingredients. No thank you!!!! Do a search on whether soy is a healthy food. I couldn't find a single positive article in favor of soy! I certainly couldn't sell something I don't believe in!
I again asked my previously supportive coach how to back out. Suddenly she said it was my business and my problem to deal with. I called the company and was on hold listening to their constant stream of propaganda for way too long. I finally got a representative who gave me return info. I hadn't even taken the "food" out of the original box, so I sealed the box and sent it back. That cost me $40 in shipping. About a month later I had my account credited $203.20, far short of what I paid! I called back and was told a supervisor would call me back sometime that day. Several hours later I received that call and was told it was their problem and to expect another credit for the remainder in a few days. A week later there was a credit to my account of $15.63. Seriously!?
Yet another propaganda-laden call to the company gave me another runaround. Then another call back saying I should be getting another $125 at some point. What a nightmare this has become!
As a side note, while I waited for my food to arrive, my coach kept hounding me to watch videos. I watched a couple. What I noticed was the people on the videos did not look healthy and talked like they would fall asleep at any moment. I can't think that the long-term effects of eating this garbage would be a good thing. Of course you can lose weight on the around 1000 calories they give you. Do it with more calories and real, healthy food!
