My husband and I signed two contracts with this contractor, paid the 50% fee of the contract and out of the 10 days they worked they were no show for three and was late every day and left early everyday.
The job was to replace windows, polystyrene, OSB, housewrap and put up new siding. Every single thing they did was wrong; the windows are crooked, the wrap was wrinkled and new polystyrene was not put up. The OSB was installed so poorly that it is out over 3" on the vertical and horizontal. They put a hole in my new window screen, broke a water line in my basement, flooding it. The first thing the inspector said while walking up to my house was "the windows are wrong".
These guys ripped a live receptacle off the wall leaving exposed wires in the debris and sawdust and then hammered a nail through the cover of the receptacle between the OSB and the bottom sill plate.
The gouged my carpet, tore up my landscaping, left trash and debris everywhere without cleaning up. They actually had to cut the wall covering off of my interior wall to inspect the inside of the wall for rodent activity and left it that way. They forgot to do it frrom the outside before they put the OSB up.
To top all of it off, they walked off the contract, leaving our windows open to the winter elements; we are not at about 20k in repairs in order to ge the house fixed to sell. The only thing they did right was to leave, they would never have been able to do this job. He said he was licensed and insured, insured yes, licensed NO. This is intentional gross negligence.
There are people coming out of the woodwork all over town talking about how he does this all the time to so many people. He actually will tell you he doesn't use a level. I have no clue how he could stay in business this long. We have reported him to every conceivable agency you can think of. We have two contractors now that are knocking it out of the park.
We have text messages, phone calls, photos, eye witness accounts and documentation. Our court date is the 15th of December. He has over 30 law suits of one kind of another on file, filed bankruptcy, bank took his house and land. Shameful, god awful.
