I called and was told, just as I see many others have, that rekeying my company's door locks would be $19 to come out, then $19 per each lock rekeyed. This sounded good so I asked them to come out and rekey my 3 entrance doors.
Leon arrived about 45 minutes later and looked at the doors, each of which has a very simple door knob and he wrote out a quotation for $395. I told Leon that it was totally ridiculous when I had been quoted $76 for the lot. He became aggressive and rude, and I really wanted to tell him to leave. However it was late on a Friday afternon and I had to get the job done, before the weekend. I signed the invoice and told him to go ahead.
Feeling totally abused by Leon from Israel (he said) I had my partner handle paying the bill and making sure all the locks worked and the one key he made for us opened and locked the doors. I was shocked to find that Leon had actually had the nerve to charge tax for his services. So I ended up with a bill for $425. As if that isn't bad enough he also broke one of the locks, which we discovered while locking up the office at 5 pm. Leon had left quickly and I have no intention of calling him back to fix the lock - I can only imagine how much that would cost us.
I too will call the BBB and will put what they do to unsuspecting anad trusting customers on Yelp and on Google reviews. I realize this will not fix the bait and switch these people do, but hopefully it will stop a couple of others from being so ripped off. What a crooked company T&D Locksmiths are.
