SynFast Oil Change Reviews

  • Feb 16, 2017

I went in for a routine oil change and was told by a service tech that my brake pads were very low and needed to be replaced. The tech never removed any of my wheels but simply made this concluson by shining a flashlight into the wheels.

I declined the offer to have new brake pads immediately put on but went home and didn't want to drive the car any distance until I had another mechanic check out my brakes. The 2nd mechanic said my brakes were fine and it was just a sleezy rip off telling me that my brakes had to be replaced.

Went for basic oil change they told me that my spark plugs needed to be replaced. The engine light was NOT on when I arrived. They never showed me the damaged plugs. I believed them and had them change 6 spark plugs. I asked for spark plugs at payment and they said they threw them away and the dumpster already took them. How am I supposed to know if they even changed them?

I call my old mechanic to tell him and he reminds me that he replaced my spark plugs and coil last year 8/17/15 with 100,000 Nippon Denso's and there was no way that they needed to be replaced yet. I drive under 3000 miles a year. I went to tell SynFast Oil Change that my sparks had just been replaced and there was no reason to change mine and that they did that job under false pretenses and I wanted a refund. They told me I was wrong and that Nippon Denzo's were not right for my car and that is why they needed to change them out. My other mechanic said Nippon Denzos were fine and that they were lying and conveniently threw out evidence.

I went back to SynFast, Juan Delgado the manager agreed to give me a refund if I called the Ford Dealer and they said that the Nippon Denzos were fine for my 2001 Ford Escape which would prove that there was no reason to take them out and replace them. I then called Les at the Ford Dealership and explained the story, he said "If they are telling you that you needed to replace those Nippon Denzo's cause they are wrong for your car that is a false statement. There was no reason to change those after one year and not even 3000 miles." I went back to Juan Delgado and told him what the Ford Dealership mechanic said. Juan says he needs to speak to his district manager, I agree to come back 2 days later so he can speak to him. I went by today and Juan told me that the best he could do is get me free oil change or pump. I told him that was unacceptable and to have the District Manager call me and I was filing with the BBB. Juan said not to come to him about this issue anymore. They owe me $377.

I then tell District Manager Esteban the situation and he tells me over the phone that it was against the law the mechanics not to give the parts back to me after the service. Whether I asked for them or not, which I did. He then admitted to me on the phone "off the record" that his employees/mechanics were at fault and that he was at the store now to go over procedures with that location as they were not doing their job correctly and to assure this never happened again.

After All this I am denied my $377 refund. I am on food stamps, this is a crushing amount to my bottom line.

This was part of the denial letter I recieved: "While servicing Spark plugs service Synfast technician Mike Jones found out that you vehicle had DENSOspark plugs and were pretty burn out (Fouled Spark plugs). Not to mentioned that this kind of spark plugs are used in Japanese vehicles not in Fords. Mike Jones informed you about this and Mr. Jones proceeded with services."

That part is total lies. They were a year old 100,000 spark plugs that were on 3,000 miles and Mike Ford is clueless as Densos are just fine for FORDS- Any FORD mechanic will attest to that except Mike Jones? Again- Per Ford, Denso's are fine for my Ford Escape and there was no reason to replace them. It doesn't matter when my spark plugs were put in before, I was told they were faulty which they were not.

These people are criminals and I will take them to small claims, call the media and tell this story til I'm dead if I dont get my refund. I hate large companies that take advantage of honest working people.
