Sweet Success Vending Reviews

  • Feb 9, 2022

Buyer beware of a company going by the name of Sweet Success Vending operated by a David Therrien aka David Brass of Vancouver British Columbia doing business in Jordan Utah.

This company advertises that they will sell you a vending route using their machines. Their advertising claims that they will get you placed in locations such as: Home Depot, Walmart, Dollar Tree, LA Fitness, Staples, & Fred Meyer but that doesn't happen.

They also claim they are worry-free machines and they had advertised that they had three 90 day warranties:

1) A placement warranty that guaranteed you'd get a replacement location if you were tossed out for reasons other than poor businessmanship. Cricket wireless threw us out within 30-days. When we attempted to get those locations replaced they told us it would cost us more money - to the tune of $50.00. (they have since changed this warranty to replacement locations cost $25 but keep in mind this was NOT the original warranty and we have screenshots to prove it.)

2) Performance Warranty - that if in the first 90-days of a location the machine was earning poorly it'd be replaced. They simply denied this 'warranty' and again demanded that I pay $50.00 if I was to obtain a new location. I had several locations that did not even earn $1.00 after 45-days. They didn't care they got my $6995.00!

3) Manufacturing warranty - They claim these machines are made well. That is NOT the case. To date I've had over one dozen calls for faulty coin mechanisms. They jam constantly and I followed their directions to the letter with the correct food grade grease and screw tightening instructions. They jam very easily and are made in Korea. Not high quality at all.

This company also advertised that they had their machines able to be retrofitted with a battery and system allowing them to function via the PayRange app from a phone. I ordered my units last summer and have yet to receive those devices and this is being written in February of 2022! David Therrien of sweetsuccessusa has ceased to communicate with me entirely and he also appears to sell Lucky Mint vending machines as well as Lightning Force Energy Chews and their machines.

When you order your package of machines - they do not come with the gumball wheels - you guessed it - those are additional money! Three of them cost me $90.00!

I left a review on-line and one of the employees there named William contacted me via email threatening me to take it down and to 'not test me'!

These people owe me parts for ten machines - I don't see them coming. No one much carries coins any more so the ONLY reason I purchased these machines was to get ones that operated with an app system. I also ordered them due to their false advertising that they can get you in to big box stores. However when that didn't happen I complained and they quickly told me Jill Burkeen, who is the person they farm out their placement services to, is responsible for placements - not them - even though their advertising is the one showing the Home Depot/Walmart/Dollar Tree logos.

Buyer beware as I have found a half dozen others claiming underhandedness by this company and particularly David Therrien who appears to live in Vancouver British Columbia. He uses a network of people such as Maggy Tong somewhere in the northwest part of the country as well as a Gary Mills in Utah.

Once they sell you a 'package' do not expect much after that. Do not expect the machines to be of high quality, to this day Beaver makes the best coin mechanisms, and do not expect placement in any place such as advertised by them. They seem to not care about customer service, and if you complain about legitimate things such as the business cards I had to pester them to produce (part of my package that took them over three months to deliver on) or the Dixie cups still owed me, forget about it. Gumball wheels cost extra and I guarantee IF they were to ever make good on the equipment to make these machines work via the PayRange app they will charge extra for that as well.

You are best to buy machines you've actually touched and inspected and place them yourself as this company, https://www.sweetsucessvending.com/usa does not honor their agreements, deliver their products as advertised, nor do they provide the locations they continue to advertise.

You can never say you've never been told. They do excellent work at stacking the reviews if anyone posts anything negative about them and David is most likely convinced no one knows where he is but my attorney and six other people that have done business with them now know. Canada also has a BBB and fraud reporting systems for unscrupulous businessmen. We shall see what happens.

see attached images and note that the performance and location warranty are next to the machine warranty proving there are three separate warranties. They also claimed 'protected territories' yet the Lucky Mint vending machiens are appearing right next to the few machines they placed in the terrible locations. I still have six in my garage out of a ten machine package.
