I worked for this company for almost 3 months. I was very hesitant to work for Sutherland because of their hiring process and the environment was just very unprofessional. The person that interviewed me asked me a couple of questions about my work experience and the standard customer service questions. This man had his cell phone with him constantly looking at his phone texting and even cussed because I guess he was annoyed by the texts he was getting. Anyway they offered me the job right on the spot. When I started working there, we were told that it's great advancement and they really care for their employees. The longer I stayed there the more I realize that was untrue.
For starters, the training was horrible. My trainer was fine but the training curriculum was terrible. We spent more time learning about things that really wasn't that important that learning about how to navigate their complicated systems. When we finally got on the production floor there were little to no help. They tell us to use our resources but it's so much to read that you can't decipher what to use. There was really no help at all. When I finally got to my team, my manager was very unengaging. We never had any one on one meetings, she never was present. She was always either at a meeting or she was elsewhere talking to someone else. She was never there to manage her team. One night my manager calls me to her desk and tells me quality monitored my call and told me I didn't verify the customers can be reached number. That is something we have to do on every call. I wasn't shown anything, I didn't listen to the call. I didn't sign anything stating I was in a final, nothing. I told her I disagree and I would like to listen to the call. She told me they don't do things like that. Any job I've been at if something was said that was against company policy on the phone your manager will pull that call and you both will listen to the call.
That did not happen. My manager Toshia Melendez told me she will listen to the call and let me know. Nothing happen. I didn't sign anything stating I was in a final. A week later on 8/25 my manager call me at 600 pm to tell me that I'msuspended till further notice because again she said I didn't verify a phone number. I didn't sign anything, HR didn't call me, nothing. After a week of not hearing from them I took it upon myself to go down there to get some answers. I waited for about 30 min to speak to someone from HR and this broad didn't know what was going on with my situation. At this time I'm livid and I demanded to speak with my manager. I waited another 30 min before she came downstairs only for her to tell me I'm on a list to be fired is backed up with paperwork. Basically I'm still on suspension. I haven't been offically fired yet. This is a ghetto and unprofessional environment and a complete waste of my time. If there is a pending lawsuit I would like to be a part of it.
