In 2015 I bought a mobile home in this park. A few months here I found that there was mold in the home. I thought water was running underneath from the back because it floods when it rains. But, there is a large plastic pipe that runs from the back sidewalk, to almost the street. The part of it that is exposed is cracked and broken. That would be park property, as it is attached under the concrete. Also the retaining walls behind my property don't retain the yard behind me, a lot of mud and gravel end up on my back sidewalk. The retaining walls are in bad shape. This was the first time I bought a mobile home myself. I had no idea what I was doing, when II first realized there was mold I thought it was part of the as is.
I had been talking to the former manager here for a month or two, about buying a home in the park as the prices were really low. He was asking a lot of questions about my family of origin. I did come from a dysfunctional family with an alcoholic father who abused me. I thought it strange that he would ask questions like that. Now I think he was looking for someone with a ceratin type personality to sell this mobile home to. I have PTSD, and also cognitive problems. He told me that the lady who was selling the home was a good friend of his. After I moved here, he told me that I didn't want to mess with him because he had friends in City Council. I don't think they expected me to live here very long.
In the fall of 2020 the lady across the street from me went out in the street and was yelling at the manager about someone's messy yard. I looked out and she was pointing here. This triggered my PTSD hard. I couldn't sleep for about a week. In November 2020 I filed a HUD report. After that I started looking into Arizona housing laws, and found that the mold issue should have been disclosed before I was sold this home. It wasn't. The only disclosure I got was that the carpets would be cleaned due to the owner's dog peeing on them. At this time I found that mold was not covered under the as is. It should have been disclosed.
I filed with HUD three times. They Told me that they couldn't help me, and referred me to Southwest Fair Housing, and said they would investigate my claims. They said they couldn't help me unless the park tried to evict me for filing HUD complaints. They sugested Filing a complaint with the Attourney General's Office. I had an advocate named Elizabeth at the Attourmey General's Office who told me that I should file a complaint with the Arizona Department of Justice because thet would investigate. I never got any reply from them. So, I found a group in Sun City that would prosecute for crimes committed against me here. All they aked was that I got the Sedona Police Department involved so they could investigate my claims, and file Orders of Protection against the people harrassing me. So, I did a timeline for the Sedona PD using copies of every complaint I had filed. I asked for their help. I never heard back from them. I did hear that they contacted the park managers about it.
I have been hearing that the park plans on evicting me for filing complaints about them, but will pretend it's because I have a messy yard. My yard is not the worst one on the street. The beginning of August my back went out because I was trying to clean it up, and lifted to much. My back is still out. I am in a lot of pain. One of the things they have done to harrass me is come and take photos if anything is even a little messed up. Until my back went out, I'd go out and do the best I cou;d to clean it up. Since my back went out I haven't been able to go to the store or anything.
Part of the problem here has been that when I do go to the store my home is broken into. When I could go out and clean up the yard there would be the same few cars going back and forth taking photos of me. I was on disability , but aged out. The thing is I asked about the yard work before I moved here, and was told it was minimilal. I told them I couldn't do any heavy work. That's all I got to do, and if I didn't they'd evict me. Since I haven't been able to do any yard upkeep I'm certain I will be evicted soon. I keep hearing they plan on doing an immediate eviction on me. I'd lose everything, even my cat. It's not really about the yard, it's about not being exposed for an illegal sale. It makes me wonder how many times this has been done to other people.
