They called telling me they needed to deliver court documents and to call a number which i did. They then proceeded to tell me I owed a fortune to Verizon which i do not. I gave them my credit card and later found out it was a scam.
Received a call today stating there is a civil case against me due to an old Verizon bill. Jason Riley, whom I spoke with at first seemed nice and professional as if he is trying to work in your favor to settle the debt but after a few inqiuries on my part to him and questioning his motives and documentation for this, he became aggressive, demanding and threatening.
He then proceeded to have a "Kendall McCoy" send me documentation which only ended up being a 1 page shwoing to be a stipulation of agreement and authoriation of payment
He wanted 1/2 the debt paid today and demanded a Visa, MC or Amex from me..
Too bad I was too smart to furnish this information and that I am currently with Verizon so if I did owe an amount, I would have not been able to open my account.
This is a full scam so don't fall for it.. I almost did for the first 5 minutes then realized it all bullshit...
I just received a phone call today from a woman who stated I needed to call number because court documents are being delivered to me. After speaking to a "Jason Riley" whom at first seem to negotiate on your behalf with Verizon certain things didn't add up so I began to ask a few questions which in turn he became aggressive. They pulled up an old number of mine from 10 years ago and stated I either needed to settle for 1/2 the amount of over $500 or go to court and pay some crazy amount of $1100. I'm with Verizon NOW and if I did have an outstanding balance, I wouldn't be able to have opened up a new account. He wouldn't supply paperwork or a detailed bill so I told him now and he said they would see me in court.. No problem.. BY the way, the old number was from another carrier and NOT Verizon.
