Saleman psomised that they would sell our other time share for an amount that would pay off their plan. Told us we were getting a VIP package that meant we would always be able to book because we would have access to the units that are held back for VIPs. Bookings would be $69.99 per night. Unfortunately we found out too late. Everything the salesman said was pure lies. We have had to hire a lawyer to get out of this thing. BEWARE!!
1. we got a free week a year beginning the same year we bought the contract.
2. if we didn't use the free week at Stormy Point Village, we could bank this week with another company and would not be charged the mainenance fee.
3. they would sell our existing vacation package through a company they contract with.
All of the above are lies. We don't get the free week until 2018. We still have to pay the maintenance fees whether we use Stormy Point or not. The company they "contract" with said they wouldn't list our property until we paid them $299.00. We later researched that company and did not find even one good report about it: they charge the fee and then do nothing to see the property. I've called Summer Winds several times: the person who identified himself as a manager was rude and condescending and didn't even pretend to plan to assist us. The saleman did call my husband back once, said he'd "get this resolved" then we never heard from him again. Every time we call, we're told something different. Today, I called and now get told we don't get a free week a year, it's a free week every three years and only after we pay the maintenance fee that we were told we wouldn't owe if we didn't use Stormy Point. If you're ever approached by these people: run, don't walk as quickly away as you can!
On December 21, 2015 I received a call from the Summer Winds Resort that I allegedly purchased a package for a time share rental. She shared that on March 13, 2013 my credit card had been charged $199. I shared I had never heard or authorized any such transactions. She basically said I was lying. I requested to speak with someone else, I spoke with Christian, the supervisor of telemarketing. He was rude and accusatory about this transaction. I shared that I wanted to file for a refund and there must have been a mistake or fraud. After many insults from him I asked to speak with a corporate employee. I spoke to Jason Alonzo of 405 Country Trace, Branson, MO 65616 and phone number of 417.336.3080. He shared that I had indeed bought a timeshare, even though I am claiming I had nothing to do with this transaction nor did I authorize it. After many other negative things about me, I requested a conversation with someone from corporate. He gave me the name of Pat Joyce, the founder. He said he would never talk with me, but good luck. This is a scam of a business and I would like to be refunded any monies I paid, even in the event of fraud. Also, a written apology from the way I was treated.
The initial meeting for the sales was filled with promises that they would "sell" our Wyndham Points enabling us to convert to their greater and better benefits. The sales aperson talked about "how easy" it was to exchange our week and become a member of Trading Places. He misrepresented how high a percentage (98%) of our requests for the vacation time we requested would be available. When I spoke to the exchange persons then denied this fact. Every word that the sales person told us was a true misrepresentation and lie! (He even gave us his personal loss that his wafe had dies...wonder IF that was true?) Told us his mother-in-law was the head of Wyndham. My inquiry did not give me that information!
They had no intention of helping sell our Wyndham Points in exchange for Stormy Point Membership. Further investigation, when we arrived home, reinforced that we had "just been ripped off" and boldly lied to. We insite don our money back! OH WELL! Read your contract...your 5 days is up!!!
When we called to discuss this with them we spoke to a Floyd Elbert, who was the manager, and he reaffirmed that no they never informed us that they would assist us with the Wyndham sale. The sales person was: Danny Austin. He was vicous with lies and denial. We were devistated and felt so taken advantage of and ripped off!!
I also foolishly paid this service who was going to broker the Wyndham Points a fee of $199.00 Since that day, although calling them several times, I have not had one inquiry regarding the purchase of points to assist with the $17,000+ we paid for this time share.
Some goverment agency needs to attend one of these seminars and see what lies and misrepresentations they deliver! In closing....STAY AWAY from Stormy Point Village ownership contract!!
