This person stating that he is a "property" manager for an AirBnB property is running a scam. He requires a formal contract with ridiculous stipulations and fees, but it just seems like he is trying to protect himself. But in fact he is running a rental scam. He told us he quit AirBnB due to lack of payment so asked us just to pay upfront. Luckily, we asked him to do it through VRBO so we could be protected. While we were staying there, he then pulled it off VRBO.
When we got there, there were 8 outside cameras and 3 "Ring" cameras around the house. He called up every afternoon we were there including as late as 9:30pm to ask us to do things... close the doors (while we were cooking we opened them so it wouldn't cause a problem), pick up a package for him, he asked us if we wanted the outside light off while we sitting on the patio at night.
All of the hot water in the sinks was turned off. He had to provide us with "clean" sheets which were in locked closets because he didn't have the palce cleaned before we got there and then gave us a hard time for getting into the closets.
However, the worst start when we left.... he said that one blind and toilet had to be replaced after we stayed there. He sent us pictures of a blind that was mildly bent and a toilet with a scratch on the inside of the bowl. These things were all there when we got there, but he asked for photo proof of this. We had taken photos of the poor condition of the beds and lack of towels/ sheets, but we didn't take pictures of the toilets and blinds.
He charged us $514 to "replace" one blind that did not need replacing. We are still awaiting the final "cost" for the toilet fix as well. We finally knew he was scamming us, when he refused to give us back money that we prepaid for parking because we thought we would have an extra car but we didn't (there was enough space for 3-4 cars, but they charged after 1 car).
Also he had offered us a free late checkout for his screw-ups with the cleaning (which he admitted), but then tried to charge us for a late checkout because it was not in email (even though we had texts proving he had said it).
Do not rent 1510 Seabreeve Blvd in Ft Lauderdale. You will be scammed and harassed.
