I am a middle school teacher and I was searching the web for a worksheet that was related to what I was teaching. My search came up with content from www.studymode.com. In order to access it, it staed I would have to pay. In big print it said "2 days for 2 dollars", I found this reasonable for what I was doing and I paid it, downloaded the file and called it a day. Several days later I see that they have not only charged me the 2.00 (which is correct), but they have signed me up for a monthly fee of 29.95 and have charged that as well. I contacted them immediately (only on the 3rd day now), and they would not canel and refund, even though it had only been a day past the 2 days I paid for. I thought I had played fair (2 bucks for 2 days), but they have decided otherwise. I am not happy.

I ordered Study Mode in order to help me in my education. I fell into the trap of buying their $59 (approximately) offer of better searches etc. Well, I am on a Mac ..and don't know if that had anything to do with it but could not access their promised services. I had started a free account ..using another email address and I had signed on much later with my new email address and had created a new user name etc. Well, the person I talked to canceled the free account that I had forgotten all about and I started seeing the recurring every 3 months charge of approximately $59 a month on my credit card. Due to Christmas and other things, I wasn't paying real close attention to my credit card account as this is one I don't use as much. Well much to my surprise and dismay, I saw that Study Mode had continued to charge me after my cancellation. I disputed the charges with Capital One but they sent me a letter stating that I had not provided enough proof.

I had sent them a copy of the correspondence that I found from "Sue Ann" about how to troubleshoot the problems I was having etc but they said this wasn't sufficient before hand. When I talked to the very nice customer service rep about my problems at Study Mode..she took down good notes and submitted them to Study Mode billing for a response to refund some of my money. This is the response I got:
