Stripe, Inc. Reviews

I transferred $2000 from my business account to tapp up my stripe balance. You froze my account and stole my money. i've been trying to get my money sent back to the bank it was transferred from and all i'm hearing from your racist customer service idiots is that some specialized group is reviewing my account.

It's been weeks and my business is basically at a hault. your incompetent so-called customer service said they are reviewing my domain. it's been weeks, what could they be reviewing. i gave them my URL and offered the hosting and even the site my company is registered from.

Your incompetent so-called customer service said they are reviewing my domain. it's been weeks, what could they be reviewing. i gave them my URL and offered the hosting and even the site my company is registered from. For a week now i've said PLEASE CLOSE MY ACCOUNT, i no longer want to use your service and they insist that my account is still under review.

No one wants to explain what is going on. All is needs is my $2000 back to my bank account and this nightmare using stripe to be over. I DONT NEED YOUR SERVICE, I JUST WANT THE ACCOUNT TO BE CLOSED. WHY IS THIS SO DIFFICULT

I own a small business that sells handmade goods. I set up and had many subscribers for a monthly subscription box. Things were going great, my customers were very happy. Suddenly, I received an email from Stripe saying that my business no longer met the Terms of Service and that I was "High Risk." I immediately began trying to contact Stripe to determine what the problem was. I had had 0 disputes, 0 refunds, 0 complaints. There was nothing that would indicate that I was not doing well with my business. They blocked my account and I can no longer take credit cards.

My monthly subscription renews on the 1st of July. I was notified that my account was offically closed on June 29th. I am now left with no way to process payments for my subscriptions set to renew in 2 days. Over the weekend I had countless customers message me trying to sign up for the subscription box and were unable to do so because Stripe blocked my ability to take credit cards. I lost several new customers over the weekend due to this. This makes my customers question my legitimacy as a business and makes my operation look terrible. I am in the process of trying to find another credit card processing service that will work with my monthly subscriptions.

Stripe has been nothing but a headache to deal with. Everything from entering tax information, to receiving payment, to now this issues has been difficult with Stripe. If you own a small business and are looking at Stripe, don't do it! It will be much more hassle than it's worth. The communication is terrible, their chat feature does not work, there is no option to call, and email is slow and when it does arrive it's an automated response that gives no information as to what the issue really is. Do not use this company!!!

During this Covid-19 pandemic, I've been driving as a restaurenat deivery driver for ricepo & chowbus. Because of these busineses small size, they use stripe payment systems to handle their payments to their driver's.

Setting up one of these stripe accounts may seem easy. They pay you for a cycle, or two. And then, stripe will change your setting parameters to steal your earnings!

There's no phone support at stripe. Only email that I've used for four weeks in an attempt to receive my funds paid to their payment platform to pay me. After four weeks, I've still not yet been able to receive payment from stripe for restaurant orders I've delivered to diners.

Credit Card Banking

Lost $240.00

The company have many names, Prouptime, proupmember, Stripe Inc (LCC). The company billed me $40 then another $100 two times and has refused to refund despite telling my bank. They are a web service company and I don't even have a web business. They are a fraud. As proof to the bank, Pro Uptime sent log files that appear to be from a Window NT computer, by the time, I didn’t use Windows, I had Ubuntu in my computer, and also, I was working during the time that they claim that the (false) log files date and time was created.

The payment are handled of a company called Strip, Inc. The transactions happened on 2/1/2020 and 2/3/2020. I have taken all the appropriate actions to retrieve my money. I don't operate a website and never agreed to the terms of Stripe, Inc (LCC). They have no contact information online, no email, office address or phone number. The only way to contact them is to request a phone call by fax. I spoke to an employee, she refused to let me speak to a superior, give me a contact number, employee number, physical address, or corporate headquarters citing policy and safety of their employees.

A google search of Stripe and Prouptime I find reviews with claims of Stripe Stealing money. I believe they are engaging in wire fraud. Regardles they can't give me a date as of today for when I will be given my money or let me speak to anyone with the authority to act. I never agreed to their terms either or granted them access to my accounts. At the moment they are holding nearly 240 dollars of mine without authorization, accountabillity, or end date for when they will release the funds to me. On there occasions this company used my debit card to bill me for services.

I do not own a web business nor use their services. On 2/1/2020 and 2/3/2020 three debits were made to my bank account. One for $40 and two for $100. This company provides services to online companies which I do not use, own, have any connection to or use for any purpose. I had my bank attempt a chargeback which failed. I placed a call direct to the company and they gave an email for me to contact them for a refund, which I did. Their response was they cancelled my "subscription" but refused to refund as there was a chargeback .

The chargeback was then lifted by my bank and they got my money. I again emailed for a refund but they denied saying since my bank paid them they were not going to issue a refund. Further, I have no account with this company, no user name, password or any other correspondence with or from them. Fraudulent billing from this company on my credit card. When calling to dispute the person they decline to give me the address, location, employee ID number, or transfer me to a supervisor when I requested to speak with someone who could answer my questions. This company is fraudulent.

I received 3 charges over a period of 2 days - two for $100 and one for $40. I have never used this service and do not need it. When I called the number on the credit card statement, the woman pretended she had no knowledge of Pro Uptime and was simply a call center for the credit card company, she refused to give us any information about what the company was or what service it provided. After some time, she then claimed it was a service that offered online job training? I found the company phone number on their website (turns out it's the same number as was on the credit card statement) and the automated answering machine was voiced by the same woman we had just spoken to who claimed not to know anything about Pro Uptime, clearly saying "Thank you for calling Pro Uptime" The company doesn't seem to have existed before January 2020.

I have no idea how they got my credit card information, these grifters aren't even pretending to sell anything - just outright stealing. They should be ashamed of themselves and hopefully the law catches up to them. Desired Outcome, Billing Adjustment. I would like to be refunded $240 on my debit card by this business. They really should have to pay for my time in trying to resolve this. I want $240 returned to my bank account.

Stripe.com handles credit card (merchant) processing for internet transactions.

I am making this report to warn and caution any small to medium sized company to stay away from Stripe. They act unethically and will intentionally damage your standing with any other merchant processing company.

If you experience a problem of any kind, dealing with Stripe is near impossible. If any company refuses to allow you to communicate with a manager, hides their physical address, and otherwise makes it impossible to communicate with them, don't walk run.

My company has both B2B business and B2C business. We process roughly $500,000.00 in monthly credit card transactions. We used Stripe just for B2C, or less than 10% of our volume. Our fraud rate is near 0% on both. However, with Stripe, the fraud rate skyrocketed. Where most processors will not put through a transaction with an incorrect address, Stripe processes just about any transaction and then faults the merchant.

To any merchant new to merchant processing, be warned that this type of activity has serious consequences for a merchant, as the industry will flag your account and no other processor will work with you. For less than $2,000.00 in fraudulent transactions, made possible by Stripe's non existent security, working with Stripe will put your ability to handle credit card transactions at risk.

When this occurred with my company, we attempted to reach out to Stripe. The support employee refused to connect us with a live human being. When asked for the contact information for anyone in management, the support person flat out refused. If there is a company that hides its physical address, will not reveal officers and managers, and will not put a human face to a problem, odds are 100% that they are intentionally acting unethically and fraudulently.

That is our experience with Stripe.com. We caution any merchant considering signing up with Stripe.com to think twice and walk away quickly. The experience may cause serious harm to your ability to conduct business online.

Whatever you do, DO NOT do business with Stripe! They will open an account very easily for you, allow you to start accepting credit card payments from your customers, and then they will "re-evaluate" your business down the road and close your account overnight leaving you with no way to accept payment from your customers.

I had a membership site that used Stripe. So I had a bunch of monthly memberships established. Stripe had no problem with my business when I opened the account. Then they changed their terms of service and closed my account overnight. Needless to say, I lost all those memberships.

I had the account for about 6 years with no problems - only one chargeback that I can remember.

Let me reiterate - NEVER do business with Stripe! You will lose everything overnight if you do.

Our corporate company which is a also IPO traded. Did business with stripe for 3 days we did 2 transactions totaling $6,000 Then we get a email stating they need all this info on our corporate company and invoices. We sent that plus all of our tax licences and business licenses. And our articles of incorporation.

Now we cant get ahold of anyone there. We called them on 01/30/2019 and stated that if our company's funds was not released we would pursue criminal Charges against the CEO, We was told by the rep. That their colleague was looking into it , please hold , then they hung up on us. FYI This company has been under a Federal investigation by the FBI cyber criminal investigations team in California for 3 years and is Currently under investigation by the FTC .

If your company has had funds not released call the FBI field office in San Francisco, CA. They are aware of the situation and will take a report.

Our company has now as of 01/02/2019 has now filed a multi million dollar lawsuit against Stripe and the BBB for their area . And have filed criminal Charges against the CEO of stripe that they are not a licensed financial institution or are they licensed to handle funds over the Internet.

I was using the Stripe payment processing company to accept card payments on my website - they allowed up to $200 to be taken from my customers, and they kept every penny of it. I keep asking them what is going on - and every day for over a week now, they have been telling me they are looking into it.

I was told yesterday that I probably won't be getting any of my websites revenue from them - and they don't even give me a reason. Stealing a businesses revenue is a felony in the United States - and I have taken legal action against this company. Every day they push back the payout date. First it was January 21st - every day it has gotten pushed back - and now it is at February 3rd - if you know what is best for your business, don't use Stripe.

I have attached a screenshot of what they refuse to pay me, and how it is now pushed back to a different date. Even as I am typing this, the date changed to now Feb 4th - what a scam! I couldn't be more disappointed in a company, and they need to be shut down - which is what the lawsuite will fight for.

Do not use Stripe.com to process your payments! They are a scam payment processing company, and are not to be trusted at all!

Stripe processed payment transactions and then held the deposits. I am not making a complaint about the held funds. My complaint is due to the fact that they willnot release the funds.

The funds have been held since March, 2018 -- 10 months ago. I can not get an email response and there is no way to contact them by telephone. There is no risk of a chargeback at this point so the funds should be released. My complaint is due to the lack of response from them.

I am a new mom and pop to shopify. We have used it for a a month or so and out of nowhere with no warning, our deposits stopped. For days! After contacting shopify, they indicated the merchant Stripe, Inc, required verifyable information. I submitted the documentation. I was called to confirm it was received and its been 3-4 days since providing the details, and still no deposit from more than 10 days ago.

I have accumulated 15 nsf fees and can not pay my employees on memorial day weekend. This is an absolute nightmare. In addition, there are no phone numbers to reach Stripe. this company is run by Patrick and John Collison out of San Fran. I have located Johns cell phone if you would like to try and reach him.. 650-485-1871.

I will continue to search, call neighbors, relatives anyone associated with these people. We as a small business do not need to feel trapped like this. I personally cant believe with all the complaints filed that Shopify would continue do business with Stripe. So far, I see that Shopify spends alot of time defending Stripe. Hopefully, these billionaires will be held accountable. I can not wait for a class action lawsuit to get started!

This is the only form of payment that you seem to be able to use if you open a store on Facebook, so this should involve them too. When I first opened a selling site, I could not get this to work. This has been going on for way too long. I get e-mails that they have 200,000 dollar orders processing, and then I get requests for refunds. (There is not that much that has ever been in my shop) Something about them always seemed off, so I never put in my banking information, which from what I am reading is just as well. How can FACEBOOK insist you use this fraudulent site, when it is a scam???? Why not paypal or the square or any other already vetted way to pay and get paid??

Now my page has totally disappeared???? I have no idea what is going on at Facebook, but they need to get their little bots in order???

  • Feb 6, 2018

It's important to note that Stripe does not have a phone number they publicize for the purposes of correcting issues. They only allow emails. This provides them with almost complete control over what happens, how and when.

Stripe has repeatedly failed to issue payments to our bank acocunt after consumers made payments. Today, they owe us over $24K that we can see they have by looking at our account (and they have been holding for over 30 days).

First, they did not notify us that they weren't issuing payments to us. They held the funds until our accounting team reliazed the lack of payment during an end of month reconiliation. When we contacted them via email, they started requriing that a person (this is a coprorate account we have wuth them) issue private information such as social security number and other personal data so that the payments could be associated with that individual. As you know, corporate accounts may ahve an individual listed as a contact but that individual shoudl NEVER have to provide their social security number or other private data (not when the company itself has an EIN) and that person should NEVER be associated with these payments.

After a week of them holding 10's of thousands of dollars iof ours (undoubetedly making interest the whoel time) We finally relented because Stripe would not and I offered my personal info. They specifically asked that I provide the info via email. When I offered my personal info, they rejected it and instead sent me to a link to see how to change that info myself through their website. be aware that this is now about 2 weeks into the process and a total of 6 week sof them having our funds.

When I went to the website, there is no way to change my person info. Instead, the website says you have to email them the info and they change it or open a link on the website. back and forth, back and forth as they continaully hold the funds, send us in circles and fail to pay out.

We still arent resolved and we still dont have our money.

BE AWARE OF STRIPE. There are tons of other good processors. Dont use Stripe!!!

Long and short story, DONT USE THIS COPMANY!

We signed them up to be our payment processeors, that was the biggeset mistake. Our very first transaction with them, was supposdely a "Fradulent" Tranaction.

After we shipped out a $500 item to the buyer, Stripe came back and said this transaction was fradulaent and took the money out of our account withour our notice and "Supposedly sent it back to the bank" because the card holder said that they didnt authorize this tranaction.

We provided strip with everything they needed to prove that we shipped the item including tracking number through FedEx, however, they came back and said the dispute wasn't setteled in our favor, and now we are out a $500 product.

Now what did Stripe do to prevent the fradulant tranaction from happening to begine with ??? nothing! Ok, what did Strip do to fix their mess because they never prtected us to begin with???? They did nothing, actually, they took out money.

Below is the last email I sent them

"You just typed up a 2 page email to explain to me how the dispute process works and how I ended up in this mess......What you didn't tell me is, how are you going to help me?????

I wasn't doing business with their bank, I was doing business with you, you were suppose to be protecting us from these fraudulent activities, but you didn't. There for, I would imagine and expect that you reimburse us for this loss...Otherwise whats the purpose of using your service? If that transaction had gone directly through my bank or PayPal, i wouldn't be in this situation. The only reason why I am out this money and loss, is because you were handling our payments. This is why I say your service is useless, and people shouldn't be using you, as you will do nothing to protect them before the issue happens, and you will certainly not do anything after the issue. So, your role is to collect commission on everything that goes well, but when issues occur, you will simply type up 2 pages emails about non sense and not helpful to anyone. My role now to let everyone know not to use you and stick to PayPal and or their regular bank "

  • Nov 8, 2017

At this time, Stripe reserves the right to hold/reserve funds if we determine that the risk of loss to Stripe, Customers, or others associated with your Stripe Account is higher than normal.

This has halted customer orders as they are witholding funds after we have asked them to refund. There is no communication on their end. They do not have a phone number so that you can talk to a real person. We have requested they cancel the pre-authorization and they have yet to respond.

  • Sep 23, 2017

I can't seem to get their support staff to get back to me. I do have a Stripe account. Several days ago I got an email saying there were security issues and my account is locked. I was told to reply with times to call me. I did. Their staff called me on a different day and time. I do not answer numbers I don't recognize due to the nature of my business (psychotherapist).

I need to get access to the money that is in my account. I do not appreciate that they do not have real phone support. I can't call them. I have left messages on their VM (when I returned the one call I did get, it goes straight to VM), their sales link (on stripe.com) and via email. They take several days to reply and the fact that I can't call them does not work for my business. I need the money I have collected but they have locked my account.

  • Sep 16, 2017

No response email or phone, held 6000-10000 no paybacks over 2 months

Do not use this. Fraudulent app most likely. Fraudulent company most likely using this method to make money off people - scam.

I am a business owner who decided to try using stripe.com on a recommendation from a friend. I used the services for mayvbe 2 weeks when my account was shut down after nothing bad had happened at all. They held a reserve of over $3,000 dollars for now 120 days and i have not been able to get a response from customer service in months. They do not have a phone number and NEVER respond to emails at all. According to their dashboard i am supposed to recieve the funds on 7/29/17 which was last month. Now they are just toying with me and my family and business need those funds. They have stopped my business for no reason. I just want a reply so i can plan around my funds.

My elderly customer paid through Invoice2go using Stripe payment option. Initially they said 7 day wait. After a few days I attempted to call after reading horrifying reviews. They have no phone number. Why? 10000000s of people would call to complain. Until I called invoice2go and mentioned legal action. I Didnt hear from stripe. Not even 1 response to the dozens of emails I sent. The funds availability date on dashboard showed 5/19/17.. As others mentioned. Stripe inquired for my ID. Facebook. Website and other strange things to verify my identity. Then suddenly the availability date changes to 5/20/17. After giving my ID etc. The payout date moved to 5/22/17.. I am filing civil AMD criminal charges against Stripe. Mainly PATRICK AND JOHN COLLISION. THEY ARE THE CEO AND FOUNDERS. I found where they live! Any who wants in on the class action lawsuit. Do not hesitate to call me.. I have the FBI.

IC3. FTC. IRS. Local law enforcement. Interpol and numerous other agencies looking into this. I am also calling Forbes Magazine. They were in it as youngest billionaires. Detective told me they are fraudsters. 2 Irish immigrants. The owners. Worth 1.2 billion each. I know how.. They've been scamming Americans. Lets show them these colors don't run!!!!!! Marc Chambers
