Back in 2017 I had attend a local driver’s education program at the high school in my hometown. It was not effective since we did mainly classroom work, did the driver’s simulator for 2 weeks, & only drove for like 20-30 minutes each for 2 days.
I wanted something more effective. I started calling other driving schools in Mississippi. I called Street Defense Driving School, and they had told me that they do not have one locally to me when I had told them what city in Mississippi that I am located at & where is it near.
She had told me that they are working on coming towards my way to Greenwood, MS in the near future. I was calling them faithfully from 2017-2019 (many times every month of every few months). The owner was telling me repeatedly that he will try to get one of his driving instructors to come to my hometown and give my driving lessons.
He said that they used to be in Grenada, MS but not enough students were interested in it & signing up for it. Both Grenada, MS & Greenwood, MS is only 30 or 32 miles from my hometown. It would have been great for them to be in either one of those towns or come give me lessons in my hometown.
The owner had told me that he is trying to come to Kosciusko, MS. From last year of 2018 to 2019 they had been telling me different stories about they will be open in Greenwood, MS the next month, the beginning of the year, very soon, and even promised me that they will be opened in Greenwood, MS this year of 2019 by the end of the summer.
They claim that they are trying to get it approved through the court in Greenwood, MS. I just called them yesterday on 09/25/19 to ask are they still coming to Greenwood, MS. They told me that they are not coming & the woman who answered told me sorry. I really do not think that is the case.
Greenwood, MS is a predominately city of African-Americans. I believe that they did not come there because it was going to mostly be African-American students signing up to take it. When they were in Grenada, MS (as he had claimed), I believe not enough students was signing up for it because they did not advertise it enough like put it on Billboards, advertisements in newspapers, flyers in neighborhoods, advertisements on radio stations, and on Cable One’s promotional channel.
I believe that they also realized that it was going to be a lot of African-American students that was going to try to signup for it or was going to sign up for it. That is the real reason they had shut down their school in Grenada, MS.
There is 0 reasons and excuses of why they should have been consistently lying to me and telling me different stories every time that I call them. I am an adult learner who is trying to learn how to fully drive a car & truck, pass my driver's license road exam, & get my driver's license.
