I was having trouble with my brakes on my RV most of the system had already been rebuilt but the pedal was way to low for comfort and the pedal would change where resistance would start, usually this means there is air in the hydraulic or brake fluid system. This can cause brake failure so i called Strattons they had me make an appointment a week from the call on a Wednesday i thought this meant that was when they would begin the work. I was wrong, I was informed it would not be till the following Monday and pick it up then, i did not object but i did not like be manipulated in that manner itwas the “first lie” to me.
Now 2 weeks went by i called and requested status of my RV the Receptionist stated bleeding had not started at that point this was “second lie” I then informed them to disregard the work order i was on my way to pick up the RV which is about 30 miles from my home.I had to get a ride there so i could drive the camper home, about 3/4 of the way i received a call from Strattons they “promised” if
i let them complete the work id have it on the following Monday i let them this was a Thursday or Friday since he promised adamantly i agreed to him completing the work order and added to repair the fuel Gage.
That Monday went by no call from strattons “lied again” i called the following Monday they apologized and informed me i could pick it up Friday. i got there about closing time and paid the bill and went to drive it home the brakes felt worse then when i brought it to them my wife said i should drive it home and see if the brakes would settle in which i knew better but went against my better judgment and drove it home. When i got home the front brakes where smoking and the brakes never got better. We took it back the following Monday when i questioned them about the bleeding they swore they where never told to bleed the brakes only adjust them i never said anything about adjusting them “another lie”. At this point i just wanted them to honor there agreement and get away from there so i left it again.
Another week and more phone calls went by i was informed it was ready but they didn’t know how to fix it so they had to put 2 technicians on it to figure how to bleed brakes on a camper which they claim to know how to repair. they had me pay a considerable amount on top of what i already paid them and said it was the proportional valve that caused the problem the bleeder was broke so they
bled the line following the valve which it turns out not to be a proportional valve at all but an abs valve. It was about closing time so after debating the work and bill we left feeling totally sheared like sheep. I got in the camper started it up and the brakes almost went to the floor again and decided to not go back in there because i could not afford the time and money and lack of hope to get them to be able to bleed the brakes.
Summary:
Over a month for something i figured a day or 2 at most and numerous lies, a lack of professionalism from the owner and mechanics and lack of concern for the customer except to go out of there way to lie or mislead you and my opinion is they over charge for everything they did.
