On 8/7/16, an advertisement popped up on my Facebook timeline for a StraightFix brush; I paid $70.00 for this product. Unfortunately, I read the review after my purhase and became aware that this company is falsifying advertisements and sending out completely different produts. Thus, on August 13th, I wrote the company:
"Good afternoon,
I would like to cancel my order; this product not what is advertised. Please provide me with a full refund as soon as possible.
Please provide confirmation of receipt of this email.
With best regards,
Melody Wang"
There had not been a response, so I emailed them again on 8/18/16 after I received the product (a cheap brush with the label Beauty Star):
"Good afternoon,
I received a product that is not what I had ordered; I would like to demand the full refund as soon as possible. I will continue to inquire about this until a representative follows up with me.
Thank you,
Melody"
I still had not received a response, so I reached out to this company via Facebook and issued them a warning that if they didni't provide me with a full refund within 24 hours, I would file this report to expose them.
On november 27, 2016, i had ordered the 2-in-1 straightening brush directly from straightfix.com after having viewed an advertisement for the product via facebook.
Upon receiving the product, i noticed that the product did not contain any labels pertaining to straightfix, but it actually contained the label beauty star and noticed the packaging stated that the company konmison manufactured the brush. This company is not mentioned once on the straightfix’s website. Furthermore, after visiting konmison’s website, i had found the exact model of the v2 straightening hair brush, however, rather than being advertised as $119.95 on straightfix.com, konmison had priced the product at $31. Due to skepticism, i further researched the straightfix company, only to find similar complaints of false advertisement and fraud on and outscam.com.
To confirm my suspicion, i researched the reliability of straightfix.com via scamner.com and scamadviser.com and both websites reported straightfix.com as suspicious, as the actual location of the website is hidden. This has led me to conclude that this website is in fact fraudulent and illegitimate.
Order sf130336142 with StraightFix on November 5th,2016. I ordered the StraightFix Brush, the default color is pink and I changed the color to black and the product changed to this other product that cost $115 where the brush is $69.... interesting. The product arrives via DHL as it comes from Hong Kong. It's not the correct product, but I thought I would try it anyways. Since it's not a brush it don't work like a brush or function properly or heat. I contacted this company and told them and said I would take the brush in exchange and if I can't exchange I wanted a refund as the product is defective. I was told to email [email protected] I got no reply, I sent message on the face book page, no resolution. I was contacted by many ladies who told me they were experiencing the same problems and even blocked by the company on facebook so they couldn't make anymore comments to warn other consumers. I no longer want an exchange I want my money refunded to me and I also want this company investigated for its poor business practices
StraightFix markets their hair brush straighteners as originals at $140 (and more) a piece. They offer free 5-day shipping and pass themselves off as a company based in English speaking countries. When I received the straightener after paying $70, I received a very cheap brand called "Beauty Star" by Konmison, shipped directly from China with the name of "Mr. Xiang." This straightener is available on Amazon and other sellers for $20 and less. On StraightFix's actual website, they photoshop out the labels on the straighteners to make it impossible to do price matching. This way, they can be extremely successful at price gouging. I have sent them various emails and Facebook messages, but they have read and ignored them. (I know this, because Facebook will tell you when the messages have been read.) They have scammed thousands of people already. Something must be done.
