First they put an overclock on my storage unit when my payment was there the whole time in their drop box now I am having to pay a fu months rent for 8 days....their units smell musty and they leak...NEVER will I rent from them again
Salina Movers, dba Storage Mart in Salina Kansas stole my storage, It first started by putting incorrect payment information into their accounting system leading to me almost losing my storage. That got corrected after they transferred their information to a new accounting system and saw their errors.
Then they started charging me for an additional storage unit that I didn't sign for. Then they started charging me an additional $100 plus per month. I used to talk to a man named Ben, until he told he no longer worked in that position.
So eventually I spoke with a lady by the name of Keri. She told me to stop paying until shee took an inventory of my items. She promised that my possessions will not be in jeopardy. I have the emails and text messages to support that.
After time, when I tried to call her, she did not answer and eventually, the business/personal cell number she used was disconnected. I tried for years to talk to someone about me going to Salina Kansas to pick up my storage. I sent numerous emails, text messages and phone calls but they were never returned.
I would still receive a montly email statement asking me to pay, but it came from a Gmail address with warnings that this email box may be fraudulent. Also, the emal address was one that you could not respond to. When a man named Ben use to take my payments,
I did not have these problems. Those units contained the contents of my life. They contained the contents of my family home I grew up in. I have lost pictures, birth and death certificates, many many antiques that would cost me hundreds and/or thousands to replace, as will as clothing, tv's, kitchenware, family photos,
Everything that shows my life and existance were in those units!
I have stored my personal items at this facility probably for the last 12 years. I had a large unit and when the rent became outrageous, over 200$ a month, I went through my things and pared down to a unit half the size. Now that rent has doubled in about 5 years. I needed temp storage for a move, rented the exact same unit and got it for half the price. How is it that StorageMart gets away with ripping off its long term renters. It would seem to me a better business practice would be to provide long term renters with a discount over time instead of gouging them.
From beginning to end, this was a lousy experience.
I spent champagne money on backwash beer facility and service.
Advertised rates didn't match actual rates. Facility was in disrepare. Staff was argumentative at her sweetest.
My attempt to make sure I didn't cheat them out of a few days storage resulted in a $72 dollar anal thanking. I have asked for a call to discuss the matter and no one has bothered to follow up.
