FRAUD!! FRAUD!! FRAUD!! FRAUD!! Charged $220.00 damage fee that was sent to collections and placed on my husband’s credit. It was a fee for pet damage caused by daughter's roommate that was EVICTED!! The roommate that was evicted had a pet cat prior to my daughter moving in. When this girl was evicted by Sterling Cottages they apparently did not collect pet damage fees! Now they are trying to collect fees from my daughter and a 3rd room mate who did not even have pets. I and my daughter have tried over 20 times to reach apartment manager and regional manager but NO ONE IS EVER AVAILABLE!! EVER!! This is complete fraud and some employee is trying to fix their monetary mistake of not getting the money from the evicted party (with a pet) from our bank account. This is FRAUD!! Let’s flashback for a moment. . . This place was an issue from day of move in. My daughter and one of her friends moved into this apartment complex with another girl whom was already living there. When we walked in there was a cat sitting in the window and the girl’s nasty panties laying in the chair. It was obvious something started there and ended in the bedroom. I took pictures and immediately complained to management as we did not want a place with a pet. I even showed them the pictures of nasty panties. (However, it was move in day for colleges and no available spaces.) So we made the best of it and went upstairs to move my daughter’s things in. As I was walking down stairs, (nasty panty) roommate comes out of her room in a tank kinni and panties! (My children ages 4 years, 6 years, 8 years old, along with my husband are with me). Nasty Panty, then walks outside to meet the guy she had coming over. (Yeah they did). I immediately went back to the management office and complained to the police officer and the manager, because (nasty panty) has some type of mental issue manifesting here. The manager attempted to speak to (nasty panty) but (nasty panty) wanted to say "I pay rent here and I can do what I want." The manager looked for a week to move us because she felt (nasty panty) was going to continue to be disrespectful. However, there was no open apartments available. (again first week of college move-in) My daughter decided to stay and it went downhill from there. (Nasty panty) did not like my daughter and she let it be known. My daughter would stand up for herself and told her to stop bringing so many guys to the apartment late at night. (more to that story, just put the pieces together) So (Nasty Panty) started knocking on my daughter’s bedroom door to complain about leaving literally one fork in the sink!! My daughter argues with her then later the next day, my daughter’s milk has a container of salt poured into it. We called the cops and was told nothing could be down until she was caught on video. Multiple, Multiple, Multiple complaints about food tampering and other things where made aware to the management office. Guess what! (don’t say chicken butt) (MANAGEMENT WAS NEVER AVAILABLE)!! Trust and believe them never being available after move in is a common trend and theme with this place. Well moving on, Nasty panty gets mad at my daughter again and now we have her on video, taking my daughters food out of the refrigerator and pouring it all down the sink and into the trash. The cops are called again, the magistrate is notified, and then an eviction noticed is placed on Nasty Pany door after about one month. Nasty panty still had the same pet cat the entire time. Happy to say we moved our daughter out of there and now she is in a one bedroom, somewhere else, and happy!! Yes, we tried to break the lease but our daughter wanted to be (independent and tough it out)!
