I chose to visit State8 Motorcycles because their website appeared professional and I saw no documented evidence of clients being dissatisfied.
The company's sales agent seemed eager to assist me, and I took that as a very good sign.
Once I found the motorcycle I wanted to purchase, I explained IN VERY CERTAIN TERMS that I did not want financing which had a high interest rate or penalties for early pay-off of said financing, as I was planning to pay the financing off within a few months.
I waited WELL OVER AN HOUR to find out that they had searched through MULTIPLE financing companies, dinging my credit with each hit, lowering my score by doing so and then the kicker: I was offered what I choose to believe was a VERY HIGH INTEREST RATE THAT INCLUDED A PENALTY FOR EARLY PAY-OFF! I halted the attempt to purchase anything from this company and I am d**n glad I did so. I left, totally discouraged and in very poor spirits.
This was such a miserable affair that I have chosen to purchase a motorcycle at a different facility and pay for it with cash. I didn't understand the situation when the sales agent told me my credit score wasn't what I thought (ACTUALLY KNEW) it to be. No wonder, due to the fact that this company continued searching mutiple financing options instead of coming to me after the first attempt and explain the interest rate and penalty for early pay-off.
Some may say this is just poor marketing management, some may explain that it was the fact there was a lack of or miscommunication between the sales agent and finance depart, some might choose to believe that this is the company's normal M.O. and that it's their way of forcing a sale. I tend to believe it's the latter of the three.
Additionally, I receive an e-mail from the sales agent a little more than a week later, that stated he was reviewing his records and if I was still "IN THE MARKET", he'd be glad to assist me in any way possible. I returned an e-mail that stated I WAS still in the market and that I found a different facility that offered motorcycles comparable in quality, age, mileage and same dealer preparation protocol - but for apprtoximately $500 - $700 less in price.
Needless to say, I never heard back from him after that.
My suggestion to anyone searching for a motorcycle, DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH STATE 8 MOTORCYCLES IN CUYAHOGA FALLS. (I can't say the same for the State 8 facility in Medina Ohio, as I haven't had any dealings with them).
