I hate to say it but I should have listened to my wife. We went to a timeshare session in Las Vegas and I got sucked in. We were told that the whole session was being recorded for our own safety. I won't go into details, but they promised the moon. They "gave" us all kinds of free trips, for a fee, and when we got home and started pricing out there trips we found it to be all false. We could buy the same trips for the same cost just booking online without any discount. In fact several of the trips we checked were cheaper. They repeatedly told us we had 10 days to cancel our deal with just a phone call. Another lie. Then we remembered the "recording for our protection" and requested a copy. They asked why? Was something wrong? They wouldn't supply the "recording" and so I contacted the Nevada Real Estate board and a gentleman by the name of JR Holle, the chief compliance officer took our complaint right away. During the filing of our grievance we were told it could take 4-6 weeks to get a response. It took him about a week. We got a letter direct from him saying he personally contacted the co. and they will be refunding my money. That was in march. They would send a cheque and cancel it before it cleared, games back and forth and still not resolved. I have contacted JR Holle today and we'll see what happens.
If any one is thinking of doing a deal with these people, RUN. I found out they have so many problems and complaints that they have fulltime lawyers on staff. I finally got Mastercard to reverse the charges and thought we were done. 2 weeks later the charges were reversed? I contacted Mastercard, and an idiot by the name of Chris Bowman who works in the credit dept. sent them a copy of one of they cheques they cancelled as proof they paid me. The problem was I obtained copies of the cancellation from the bank and it proved they submitted thier "proof " after cancelling the cheque. Mastercard, through no fault of there own, reversed the payment and cancelled my complaint. When I sent them copies of the fraud they were back at bat for me. Paperwork and policies unfortunately has tied thier hands. It's to late to file another claim and mine was closed and marked resolved. Apperently they can't reopen it? They told me they would be contacting Star Point directly to see what they could do. I wished them good luck. I bet they do this all the time and know how the system works. It made me look like I was using Mastercard to rip off Star Point.
Watch these guys!!! I wish I could use the 2 grand I put down to post a billboard ad across the street from The Jockey Club in Vegas. I might yet, but I don't have the money back yet. Thx Terry Manick
