We went to Stanton for glasses, was told he needed cardaract surgery , yet they insisted that he go ahead and get glasses. We did and paid $238.00. After the surgery we went back to have remake. Were told we could not get the deal bogo because we used insurance to pay. Aslo we waited for 5 hours and 12 minutes for them to make readers, and when they were made they were not his prescription. We finally left without glasses and to yet do not have galsses.
We ask for our money back but of course that was not going to happen.
I have written to the home office 2 times and called a half dozen and no one ever answers the phone.
So we basicly have a 238.00 referral fee
There should be someway to make this right.... but they will not even answer the phone.
We were told they would remake the remake and ship them to us....... i'm not holding my breath
The lady helping me told me the price of my glasses was going to be $230, which is like 5 times what they advertise. But I said ok cause I was excited to get my new glasses. 5 minutes later she told me it was going to be $366.00. and I questioned her and said,"you just told me 5 minutes ago it was going to be $230?. She said let me go talk to my manager. She went to talk to get manage and when she came back she said,"I ran your card for $230.00 and you have enough. I said," I didn't give you permission to run my card.
I went and questioned the manager and he said they can't give me my money back cause they were already putting my glasses together. I felt I had no choice but to accept what they did to me. I called corporate that day and they said they were going to give me my money back. But the next day they called me and said they can't give me my money back. They said I left with the glasses (which I returned the next day cause they weren't correct), that the purchase is final. I feel they cheated me, and corporate goes along with them cheating and stealing from people. They have me$100 credit but that's Monopoly money to me because I'm never going to go back to that place. Thank you, any response will be welcomed.
The doctor is not even in the store he was on a screen and it was very unpredictable they then said oh it’s fine it will be fine. My glasses took 2 weeks and they were twice the size of my head and gasman popped my lenses out after I had to go back Like 14 times. D kept moving the glasses and now they still don’t fit and I can’t see out of them o told him that and he kept saying u hVe to get use to it it’s because your prescription changed but it didn’t! They changed point 1. They got 400 dollars out of me and I can’t even wear them.
This company was fraudulant on several levels and ways. 1st off they advertize $129 in the mail for contact lens exam, 2 boxes of disposable contacts, one box of solution, and $50 off glasses..then tell you at the store in person the ad was a misprint and it will cost $75 to $250 more for the services and products in the ad. That's when I should have walked. They also have a Groupon for $30 for $150 worth of an eyeglasses purchase..what they fail to convey is the eyeglass purchase has to be over $325 to get the $150 discount that you bought from Groupon for $30..on Groupon it only says eyeglasses it never says minimum of $325 purchase to get discount! On top of all this, on the phone, they made the offer even better than the ad in the mail by offering things that I can't verify but by heresay, but the ad is out there 2 glasses for $69(which the sales rep laughed at and said "misprint") and the $129 again telling me it's a misprint and that she'd talk to someone at the home office about why the sales ads are so cheap when they aren't offering these deals!! This place is very unreputable!! As I was leaving I asked if I get to keep any percriptions I pay for regardless of price and she said "we match all deals from other competitors"!! That's like asking your cable company if this is a no contract plan and being told in responce "we're the best deal in the city"!
I bought four pairs of glasses for my five year old son. One of those pairs were Nike sunglasses so he could feel more comfortable when playing soccer and tee-ball. His prescription is pretty strong and he is unable to see without his glasses. While the other three pairs came in without any issues the Nike sunglasses had an issue with the lenses being too thick for the frames. I requested a refund. Rather than give me a refund they offered upgraded (thinner) lenses at no extra cost, of course I accepted, I wasn't trying to be difficult, they would call me when they were ready. This is where the problem started. They never called. They never returned my calls. Dozens of calls which were never returned. I went into the office and was told a manager would contact me regarding the glasses, they took my contact info (again)...never happened. I finally spoke with a manager, Edwardo Ortiz (who behaved more like a rude snake oil salesman) three months later....after sitting on hold for 28 minutes, being hung up on, calling back, sitting on hold for another 34 minutes, being transferred and FINALLY having someone actually have a conversation with me; only to be told the glasses were no longer available, they had sent the frames back, they were no longer offered by the distributor and I could not have a refund of the $573.00 I paid for them. Their reason for refucing the refund is they have a 30 day exchange policy. How the 30 days began without me receiving an actual product only the snake oil salesman can explain with rude words before hanging up on me.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. They are crooks and highly unprofessional. Stanton Optical is the worst optical/eyewear company I have ever done business with. AWFUL EXPERIENCE! Because of their refusal to refund the $573.00 I paid for these sunglasses so my nearly blind 5 year old son would feel more comfortable participating in group sports (He's always the kid with the glasses on his teams & it makes him very self conscience) he is now no longer willing to play the outdoor sports he was so excited to begin playing when he knew he would have cool "sunglasses" not the typical "glasses". I am a single mom to twins so paying the $573.00 to begin with wasn't an easy task, but of course something I was willing to do so he could feel more comfortable. What they have taken from my son is disgusting and they should be ashamed of the business they are practicing.
BOUGHT TWO PAIR OF GLASSE ON A PERSCRIPTION COULDNT SEE TO DRIVE OUT OF EITHER PAIR TOOK THEM BACK TWICE THEN TOLD THEM ISTILL COULDNT SEE OUT OF THEM ASK IF I COULD GET MONEY BACK TO GO SOMEWHERE ELS TOLD ME NO THEY HAD ALREAD BENN CUT CAN NOT REFUND ME SO I HAVE TWO PAIR OF GLASSES BOTH ARE DIFFERENT COST ME 300.00 SO NOWW I HAVE TO PAY AGAIN
Unfortunately, i didn't read the outscam about stanton optical in evansville, before i visited the business in december 2016, for a "free eye exam" and inexpensive pair of glasses.
After my exam while looking at the glasses, i discussed with ms jodie nanney General manager per her card) the possibility of wanting contacts too. She said i would need to see the optometrist again for a contact lense eye exam but had no openings for over 2 hours, so i went out and sat in my vehicle in the parking lot until the doctor could see me.
When we approached dr mcellhiney for my appointment, she told ms nanney that another exam wasn't necessary since she already had all the information she needed for contacts from my original eye exam earlier that day. She gave me some trial contacts and we went back to finalize my account standing.
Ms nanney totaled up the charges, removing the $55 paid earlier That was to be credited to my account when i ordered my new glasses after deciding if the contacts would work) and rung up new charges of $44 for the contact eye exam i didn't need plus $20 for the 2 year vision club membership for a total due of $64 which i put on the same credit card.
Ms nanney wrote on my receipt directions to staff of what she had done and agreed to with me. When i arrived today to order my glasses and try another option on contacts, i found out ms nanney was no longer there and needed to speak with a gentleman named hagan. He confirmed the $55 wasn't refunded and wouldn't be deducted from my new glasses.
He unfortunately would not give me credit for the $55 that i was promised to receive toward my eye glass purchase nor any of the $64 paid by me previously for the non-existant "contact eye examination" ($44) and the ($20) for the vision club. But he would certainly be glad to order my glasses for an additional $203 from me.
So my free eye examination and free pair of trial contacts only cost me $119. That didn't sound like much of a bargain to me and since there was no store manager in the office today to speak with about these issues, i left feeling not unlike the others that have posted here. Bad business is bad whether it's planned, accidental or uninformed employees and it's "my loss".
There are a lot of good "eyecare providers" in evansville but stanton optical is not one of them!
;-) Folks, I am not one to complain, but I have to get this off my chest. I have had a visit with most of the folks at Stanton optical to resolve an issue. I have had had visits with sales people, lab technician, Efrain Rojas their store manager, customer service, customer service manager and the District Manager Joseph something or other. I was treated horribly by everyone in that Stanton Optical and no resolution. I asked to visit with the Customer Service Manager's boss. She stated that there is no one higher than her. Joseph the District Manager said I can talk to no one higher than him. I decided to get
three more opinions from some trust worthy, honest, kind and professional Opticians. Result...as soon as all three picked up my glasses they all three said that my glasses were skewed. All three came up with the exact and same measurement. Side bar: No wonder why my vision is blurry. I have double and triple vision. I have horrible headaches. Going into Stanton Optical is like jumping into a pit of vipers. All I get from the Stanton Optical vipers are lies, deceit, verbal threats, intimidation, bullying, condescending remarks, interrupted, hateful speech, them raising their voice, scoffed at, laughed at.
Their technique seems to be to put their short comings on their customers. They seem to want their customer to feel bad. It's as if they want their paying customers to think of themselves as out of control and crazy. Hey! That is not a price I am willing to pay! Cheese Whiz dude! Stanton Optical are not good for good paying customers or for our community. I was told by many fine Lubbock folks that when you step foot in Stanton Optical...all they see are dollars signs. I wish I would have listened to the wise, before I subjected myself to the horror. Thank goodness...now I know. ;-) Friendly warning: Think twice,
before you step foot in Stanton Optical and subject yourselves to the horror, pain, misery, lies, deceit and then pile more and more on to that. Folks, I love and appreciate you. Have a great weekend. Very Sincerely, Jonathan Ensor
First went to Stanton optical on 4/8/16 and eye exam from dr. Sutton reveled rt. +0.75, -.050, 085, +1.25. Lt. +0.50, -0.50, 095, +1.25. Staff and Dr all very helpful and nice. I purchased a set on glasses using the buy 1 get 1 free. One for distance one for reading. The distance glasses were great and I could see clear again. Paying no attention to the reading glasses I left. So later I had found a pair of frames at another store that I liked and I decided I would have the progressives made. A week later the glasses came in and the distance was great but the reading part was blurry. So I tried on the reading glasses I purchased from Stanton and sure enough they were blurry too. The strange thing though was the cheap +1.25 reading glasses I purchased from the Dollar tree for $1.00 are crystal clear. So I asked the tech about it where I was buying the progressives from and he explained that the prescription that they have to go bye says “add +1.25” He said to equal the +1.25 reading it should be rt. Add +0.50 to equal +1.25 reading in the right and Lt. add +0.75 to equal +1.25 reading in the left. Had to have the prescription made out correct to get it fixed. On 5/5/16 I returned to Stanton optical and dr. Sutton was not there. I explained the problem to dr. Sussmane and he said to fix the problem we had to do a recheck. On the recheck reveled rt. -1.25, -.050, 150, +1.25. Lt. +0.50, -0.75, 096, +1.25. So the problem is the prescription is not correct and it is according to him my fault because I did it wrong. What I am confused about is, Why are the original distance glasses clear and why are the dollar store reading glasses clear. For some reason I could not articulate this to dr. Sussmane and I had a appointment I had to get to so I decided to leave the glasses there and told the tech I would be back in an hour after my other appointment. I returned 2 hours later and was told they cannot do progressive lenses in house. Um, I do not have progressive I replied. So I am in the computer system, they have both my glasses distance and reading and somehow they started thinking progressive. So after explaining everything to the technician frustration seems to set in with both of us and customer service went right out the door. I asked for my glasses back that she was holding and said ill just bring the issue to my bank and let them handle it. She said I’m not going to give them back to you then. I then had to firmly state to return my property and she removed the glasses from the case and returned them to me. I said the case too and she returned it to me as well. When I asked her name and for the manager she ignored me. When I leaned to look at her name tag she covered it with her hand. To identify her she was the oldest woman there, in her 50’s about 5’ slightly overweight. I then went to a tech that was not busy and he pointed out the assistant manager that was helping a customer right behind where I was NOT getting helped. After the assistant manager was freed up I asked her if she had witnessed any of that and she stated she did and was very apologetic and helpful toward the customer service issue. She had suggested I wait for the store manager to get back from lunch and proceeded to try and figure out the problem with the glasses. (1+1=2). I might not be the smartest person around but I know what clear is. Anyway, about 20 minutes later the store manager came back from lunch and I had been there a combined 3 hours to do some simple math to equal +1.25 and she seemed real busy and I left tired and frustrated. By the way did anyone else catch that in the second prescription? Right eye distance -1.25 add +1.25 for reading. Zero magnification in the right eye for reading. I did say the +1.25 $1.00 reading glasses are perfect right? So I am using the original prescription for distance and it is clear and the $1.00 glasses for reading. For the progressive I will just have to eat the cost of another exam to get the correct prescription. Going back to the statement of the second Doctor, you are correct it is my fault; I chose to go to Stanton Optical.
Beware of Stanton Optical in Stockton California on Pacific Avenue
My wife bought her glasses there in late December and by March the AR coating on her lens which was an added cost starting becoming uneven and caused an eyestrain on her. After bringing this to the attention of Vivi Rivera (not sure if she gave her real name) who was the manager of the business, she blamed my wife for the problem. She said because my wife used a circular motion which cleaning the lens it was her fault, but if we would pay ninety some thing more dollars she would get new lens for my wife because it was under warranty. I
told her that I've had glasses for 30 years without a problem, she held her hand up to me without looking at me.
These are the instructions on caring for your glasses with AR coating on your lens:
How to Care for Anti-Reflective Lenses
Since the AR coating is a special coating, caring for these lenses will require a bit more work. For example:
NEVER clean lenses dry. Even if you only have water available rinse them off before you clean them so you don’t grind anything into your lenses.
Only use a microfiber cloth, never use your tie or your shirt.
Put your glasses in their case at night and when you’re not using them.
You can put use an eye glass cleaner but skip most household dish soap as it can eat away at the lens.
Keep alcohol and acetone away from your lenses, as they can eat away at your lens.
These care tips are suggested in an effort to ensure that your AR coating lasts as long as they can.
Adding the AR coating to your lenses will not only help you see better, and look better but with the AR coating you won’t have to shade your eyes when you go out into the sun, or squint trying to see through the glare and reflections.
Stop by a Stanton Optical location near you to get your eye exam and get your pair of Anti-Reflective lenses!
Other than using a microfiber cloth It has nothing to do with cleaning the lens in a circular motion. The sum of this: Stanton Optical up $560.00, we down $185.00 and no eye insurance for two years..BAD MOJO.
Took eye in about 10 minutes. Took 2 day to get glassses, glaze across top of both pair still wear on the bottom of my nose because of not being right. One pair lens kept falling out and now have a scutt mark on lens the othet pairhas 2 scats and chip out of thems. Took them back within a week.because of a piece of plastic sticking up toward eye and a ruffle in the other pair lens. Took then back ofter christmas to get refund and was ask by manaer if I wash them. Then told that with my insurace that one pair was gong to cost me 80 dollars more. Told them I didn't want their pieces of s*** glasses. And ask fir home office # which is a bull number no call back or email either. Call back to get dmanger # and again ws giving the same bs #. Finally talk to someone , not dmanger and was told they would give me one pair for 30 on the one with scats. I spent almost 500 on both for s****ed glasses. Both had no lines bifocal and the one pair was tinted lens also
I need a refund and a pair of glasses they lost replaced. I have spoke to 5 people that work there and they keep giving me people to talk to. A total circle of bull. Messages have been left for managers and MIT in charge and still no return. I have corporate and no return message. They won't even answer their phone they tell you to leave a message and don't call back. Totally a SCAM Company.
I purchased two pair of glasses and one came back four weeks later with the wrong perscription and the other pair I purchased is still missing, I also gave them my husbands glasses to add a non reflective glare and they have lost those pair. I called to speak to managers and would be left on the phone for more than 30 minutes and then hung up on.
Do not ever believe anything Mike Flowers at Staton Optical in Evansville IN tells you!!!My wife and I purchased 4 pair of eye glasses their. We have always purchased our glasses at eye mart with good results.Staton was runing a Special & myself & my wife purchased glasses. While my glasses were o.k.,my wifes were absolutely terrible!!!She has a high script with one eye at a plus 7.On her first two pair of glasses her Bi-focal was up in her eye. They tried to adjust them but could not!!They sent her home with a pair they had bent and rolled the lense down, until they made another pair.My wife called them and said she would pay for the Eye Exam but would prefer her money back on the eye glasses.Manager told her they could not do that, but promised to do"WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO MAKE YOU HAPPY" he lied. While one pair of glasses are OK the other is terrible!!The say it is because of the frame she picked and they told HER.THEY LIED [MIKE FLOWERS], He said frames would work GREAT!!
Was seen @ Stanton Optical, June 30, 2015. Purchased the buy one get one free offer. Was promised delivery of both pairs of glasses within 2 weeks. First pair was delivered after one month. As of August 19 2015, second pair has not been delivered. Repeated calls to the knoxville location have accomplished nothing. They were paid for both pairs. Now they can't detirmine where the second pair is. Looks like a civil suit will be the only option I am left with to rectify this situation.

2 for $69 + FREE Eye Exam
NOT free eye exam!!!!! $45 and they will give credit if you buy more expensive glasses. The selection for $69 is 6 ugly pair only!!!!
