I got an email from Stansberry Research notifying me that my AMEX was going to be charged $24 for renewal of True Wealth. I paid a premium for what they told me was a "lifetime" subcription a year ago.
When I asked them why I am being charged twice, they responded with:
"Charge you twice for what? You have a true wealth subcription which is lifetime, you pay a $24 maintenance fee each year to keep the service. Any other charge is not related to the lifetime subscription you have."
I responded with "Maintenance fee?? Maintenance for what? I'd really like to know. You people are crooks. Please cancel all my subscriptions to Stansberry products immediately."
Stay away from Stansberry! They are dishonorable and completely lack integrity. Misleading and dishonest. If you do have a "lifetime" subscription, better read the tiny fine print or you will be stuck with a "maintenence fee" every year. Complete and utter bullshit!
Stansberry research "free book offer" is a total scam. He offers you a free book, but you pay shipping and handeling of $5, then he automatically enrolls you in some $99 monthly service contract that is never mentioned in the free book offer. His website does have a checkbox offering a $59 per month extra subscription, the default is already checked, so you need to un-check it, but nowhere does it ever mention that you will be billed $99 a month after you pay the $5 shipping and handeling. Very slimy business practice I see far too often. But he is even better than most at hiding the secret upcomming charges from you.
Total scam, and probably illigal. This guy needs to go to jail...again. I understaND this is not the first time he has been conviced of fraud. Stay away from this sopposedly "free" book offer. It is not free , nor is the book at all usefull. It is full of right-wing talking points, and it may has well benn written by Glen Beck. Because all he does is try to get you to buy gold and other metals. He is a total slimeball and belongs in prison for trying to decsive people like he does.
Shame on you Porter stansberry. You mentioned in your sales website, that you are doing this free book offer "because it is the right thing to do" well, I know why you are doing this, because you are trying to make people feel embarassed for missing the language you hide very well in your contract, and hope that you get to keep their $99 because they are afraid to ask for a refund, but it's you who should be embarassed sir. Total slimeball you are. I hope the FCC throws you in jail for this.
