Stamps.com Reviews

I reached out to my credit card company about a charge on my account from Stamps.com. The rep recommended I call the merchant and work out the dispute.

I called the merchant about the charge and other charges on my card stemming back to 2021. The Stamps rep said I could not get a credit. After requesting for a supervisor who never got on the telephone and he instructed the rep to give a refund.

The Stamps.com rep said she could only give me the last three months worth of charges. She typed in some information in the computer and after some time said she was sending the claim over to their escalation department and that they would issue a refund and that I would receive it by the end of the month.

Today, I reach out to my credit card company and after talking with three reps, the last one actually filed the dispute. From what the credit card rep told me, Stamps.com only issued a $12.61 credit.

I signed up for an account on stamps.com at the beginning of the year to make it easier to secure stamps during the bad weather of the winter months. Learned today that stamps.com has been charging me $7.99 per month since that initial purchase.

Spoke with one of the customer service representatives today who confirmed that the service costs $17.99 even if you don't buy a single stamp. So, they charge you $215.88 for the "right" to buy stamps over the web. That $215.88 does not get you a single stamp.

We're talking about a government institution that is supposed to be serving the public trust; instead they are engaging in subtrefuge, misleading consumer, and basically stealing your money unless you're paying very close attention to your billing statements.

I was trying to order stamped envelopes and got into the wrong website - should have been US postal service - but I was directed to Stamps.com.

Set up an account - then realized I was in the wrong website. Exited out.

Got credit card statement and saw that I was billed $17.99 - for a monthly service - - but you don't get anything for the monthly service fee. Researched my emails - saw that I had signed up for a free trial period of 4 weeks - this is a rip-off. No where was I informed that I would be billed monthly for a service I don't want or use.

Had to wait on hold for 15 plus minutes and talk to a rep - explained problem. Waiting for return of money - and cancellation of service.

Stamps.com I was charged $15.99 every month but did not receive any product. I contacted the customer service representative and she told me that I should go to the post office in order to investigate the matter. She also said that the transaction was made on their website with my debit card which I had lost several months ago; they reissued me one with the same exact numbers. I asked her to cease and desist any further transactions until this claim can be resolved; she refused. She did refer me to the fraud department of Stamps.com but they don't open for several days.

This is the single most mind boggling scam regarding regarding a US company that is piggybacking on a Federal legitimate service. I cannot believe that she would not cancel my subscription; even thought I am not fully aware of what the subscription was. Charged me $15 a month, no product provided, refused reimbursement and refused to cancel service. subscriptionsubscriptionsubscriptionStamps.com I was charged $15.99 every month but did not receive any product. My Daughter runs a 501C. She was charged for 6 months via credit for no services provided. Automatic charge after 4 weeks, no notification. Be smart, do not even consider doing business with this company.

I can't believe they let $660 dollars in charges go through on an account that never charges more than $20 dollars. And then when I call because they FINALLY lock my account they basically gave me the middle finger and told me to call my bank its my problem.

MY problem? No its their problem and their terrible customer service that could have simply reversed the charges like any reputable retailer would have done. They have lost my business and I will be SURE they lose a lot more after this!

A few days ago I ordered nine free stamps and gave stamps.com my credit card for on line postage services.

During the checkout process there was no shopping cart showing what I was purchasing or were there any authorization option for future recurring billing. This is fraudulent, deceptive and intentional by design. My credit card statement states that I have a recurring charge of $15.99. I never consented to a stamps.com monthly charge.

Upon further inspection of the checkout process, I confirmed that there is no express authorization for recurring fees.

This company somehow opened a secondary account for me using my credit card without my knowledge that ran up over $750 in monthly charges to my credit card. I NEVER USED THE ACCOUNT NOR DID I HAVE KNOWLEDGE OF THIS ACCOUNT. When I called in they said that I must've created the secondary account and that the charges were valid. They told me they would not be refunding me the money which is absolutely outragous. I have filed a claim with the FTC and will move forward with a lawsuit against them.

Like so many others here and around the internet stamps.com charged me 15.99 after my 4 week "Trial" was over. Unfortunately I only bothered to skim read the welcome letter - If I had bothered to read the fine print I would of seen the auto-renew BS. The impression that it gave was that it was free to use when signing up, and would only be charged anything if I wanted the "free" scale or other services they provided.

I thought the days of auto-charging customers after a free trial were over... guess not. Will NOT use this company ever again and will recommend others to avoid. You can do better just by using the USPS site.. and they don't screw you over for 'hidden' charges.

Unless you're a very large company with a large volume of shipping, avoid using Stamps.com!

The amount they've charged me since opening my account far exceeds what they've saved me in convenience.

They'll start you off with a $15.99 per month mid-level account even if that's not the level you require. Once you figure that out and request that your account be downgraded they'll still bill you at the higher rate for at least a month.

My entire experience with this company has been a disaster. You've been warned!

They're NOT the post office. Once you sign up you receice an e-mail. Open the email and they welcome you; and there's a "Get Started" button displayed. If you don't scroll down, you never see the 15.99 trial and monthly fee notice. Just know what you're doing.

I had the exact same thing happen to me as the person who wrote about how this company uses deceitful practices into getting people to unwittingly sign up to get charged a monthly fee for absolutely nothing. It's outrageous. They apparently settled a class action lawsuit in 2009 but continue to do the same thing, obviously utterly without remorse. I really don't know how people that run this company sleep with themselves at night. You have one life on this planet and you want to waste it being a complete a*h* to other people?

I am signing the online petition and I hope this company gets taken down.

Stamps.com sent me a packet in the mail offering a free trial. I downloaded the software and used it once. Somehow I ended up with $15.99/month charges with no idea at all of what I'm supposed to get for those fees. This is now the third cycle and I'm waking up to what's going on. I logged into my on-line account today (Sunday) and tried to cancel the account, but you can nly cancel the account by calling them M-F. I will call tomorrow and will cancel, and will also try to get a refund. I don't recall signing up for this. I presume I was askd to enter my credit card information in case I wanted to purchase more postage, but I do not at all recall authorizing it fro monthly fee. That would make no sense for me, a small user.
