I purchased a harley truck from stamos in July 2015. I bought the extended warranty from portfolio for $2500 as well. I brought the truck to be looked at for the 4 wheel drive issue, checked into warranty for repair but was told it "wasn't covered" (found out later why it "wasn't covered" ) When I ended up trading the truck in for obvious reasons I called stamos on March 29th and cancelled my warranty, sent the odometer statement in and confirmed that they rec'd the cancellation. I called in May 2015 asking about the warranty and was told by the finance manager that he had t heard anything and to call the bank that financed it.
I did as suggested and the bank said they never rec'd any information of a cancellation or a payment for the warranty. Finally in July after giving some more generous time I called stamos again and demanded an answer. Once again the finance manager stated " I haven't heard anything" at this point I told him I know how the process works, if stamos cancelled it back in March as requested then they would have had to pay that warranty commission back after cancelling. He stated "I will have to call the manager and find out what happened." I didn't hear back for a week, so I called again and again was told " I am waiting for my manager"
I finally said enough is enough, you either cancelled it or not, it's that simple. I called portfolio myself and was told they had no record of a warranty under our name or with the truck VIN #. ??? I called stamos back and relayed that message . The manager finally handled the issue and called me back stating that she found out that portfolio NEVER COVERED THE WARRANY due to MILEAGE DISCREPANCY? Interesting isn't that? What mileage discrepancy? Did stamos sell me a truck with false mileage reports? Did they set back the odometer? I was given back the money for the warranty, but what about the hassle and I convenience? The lies and cheating me on a truck that I had to dig and find out shady activity?
