I have lived in my current apartment for three years. I have paid my rent faithfully. I have tried to be a good, helpful and friendly neighbor and tenant. In the last year, I have had my intercom disconnected and the landlord refuses to repair it.
The super came to my door on the morning of December 13, 2019 wit Javier Monroy from the management company on the phone. They asked me when someone could come fix my intercom. We agreed on Monday December 15. No one showed up.
I spoke to the super who said he didn't know why. I called Gary Vargas at the office and after putting me on hold several times he gave me a silly story about the cold affecting electrical repairs and to call back in a week. Also the door into the building was broken for a whole year.
All kinds of strangers and drug use was going on in the building with all kinds of people leaving paraphernalia. Long story short, they are trying to blame me for the goings-on which is absurd! They installed a new entrance door around September 2019 but I am the only tenant in this building whose intercom does not work.
I am now harassed by my neighbors saying things that they couldn't possibly know which leads me to believe that the landlord has audio and/or video installed in my apartment and has possibly spread false rumors about me.
I believe the landlord has instigated neighbors to harass me to make me afraid and move out. I know this is illegal and I'm in need of help.
