When we first interviewed and hired Stacey, he had a great looking resume.
He presented himself professionally, with a history in Sales that stretched from east coast to west coast. If anything, we thought he could help us contact some larger clients and seal deals that we desperately needed. We hired him as a work from home salesman, with a territory of Portland, OR Metro Area.
At first, he had a few large sales and deals with customers we wanted to land. But after that, things began to take a twist. I was after we hired another salesman that was getting more sales and accounts that Stacey that he began harassing staff. He was caught screaming at our shipping staff, our IT department, and causing internal strife in our management administration. On many occasions, he got in fights with the company president and showed a huge disrespect to him publicly during staff meetings. He would roll his eyes, and present himself in the most unprofessional manner.
At one point we kept finding our inventory was off during counts, and we discovered he had stolen items from our product lineup and had given it away to potential clients without authorizing it or having it written off as a sales department expense. Over $900 in products. When confronted he said he was trying to land large accounts for us, but ultimately didn't because he forgot to follow up with those clients.
He was also assigned a company vehicle, which he would constantly park in handicap spaces. With the company name on this vehicle, it was getting our company very poor public relations when those pictures went up on social media. When he was confronted about it, he said he "didn't give a f**k about the brand" < his words. He was reprimanded by the HR department for that incident, but then turned around and used that moment to display his disgust for the CEO of the company, stating the CEO was a joke and would not be able to turn the company around in the next 10 years.
In the time that we employed Stacey, he consistently pointed out his inability to do a task by causing conflict in the company. Whenever it seemed like he was going to be exposed for his lack of sales, or a simple mistake, he would blame it on other staff. He would scream that the staff didn't care for the company like he cared for the company. That they weren't as passionate about it as he was. He would scream at our drivers, our IT department, our marketing department, our plant manager. It was especially bad when someone would argue back. At one point, he became so angry that he sent an email to half a dozen staff about some grievance to his experience career. It caused the company to lose 2 staff that quit on the spot. They were tired of getting berated and screamed at. We found that Stacey is completely inept with technology. We use Gmail Suite, and he couldn't understand how to use it. He was given a tablet for use to impress clients. He would b***h and moan about how he didn't understand how to use the tablet for 7 months, until finally we just purchased a laptop with outlook instead. Then the problem shifted from not being able to use email or a tablet, to being his home wifi wouldn't work, and his cell phone kept disconnecting with customers. So then we installed a business phone in his home. We tried to outfit him with every tool he needed to be successful, but he had zero interest in actually doing his job. Whenever he felt threatened, he'd claim he needed a software to do his job. Our IT department consistently provided him with what he needed. CRM programs, alternate software, custom reports, remote repair to his laptop, everything. He claimed that we were not making sales because our sales documents were poorly designed. That prompted us to hire graphic designers he interviewed and chose, which was a terrible decision. He would hire batshit crazy people who didn't produce anything. They would steal designs from other companies and play it off as their own creation. Eventually, an entire year was wasted on redesigning multiple documents, rebranding the company, all because he said he couldn't land accounts because our sales documents didn't impress the customers enough. 4 documents got redesigned 6 times until eventually, we hired the best graphics designer, Anton Kimball, to create the documents. The documents he created were very good, but we're 3MB each. They were meant specifically for printing in high quality. Stacey's complaint then was that they were too big to email all 4 at the same time.
Stacey is also a violence threatening man. While on a company trip to a trade show, he posted comments like this on the internet, and made comments like this to staff.

No one at the company has ever made that comment. He would just interject that like it's a bragging point that he was an older man with a younger woman. He makes that remark constantly online.

Western societal laws make the decision to marry for a man borderline insane. We meet and date women in their 20’s all the time. Its ridiculous…..and at times, annoying. Take a look at online dating sites in your city…..if the woman is at all attractive, she is probably in her 20’s and/or the profile is FAKE…… what guy is going to want to sign up to raise some other guy’s three kids? Its like I taught my son, “no v***** is made of gold”………. and considering that is ALL most women offer these days, they better pray that prostitution doesn’t become legalized…. because there is an entire subsection of society that will be more than happy to have sex with a hot woman and pay her to leave.

When push came to shove, he realized we had finally figured out he was all talk, no action. A con artist. He had made only a small amount of sales and made big promises that never panned out. He got into an altercation with the President with the company and was nearly terminated for it. It was then that Stacey decided to start searching for a new job. He found another company, and immediately quit. He left us high and dry with no records of any deals or promises he had made with customers. In the aftermath, we discovered he had caused a majority of the lost customers over the 2 years he was employed, and that he had been hiding it by blaming other staff for mistakes in shipments, delivery, or that we were outbid by competitors. We found out later that when he was supposed to be working on the clock between 12-2pm daily, he was actually at the gym working out.
